if anyone "hazes" you, their just possers that wish they had what you had. nice rifle. if you treat it well, it will do the same to you. brian

Hazing? Not from me. My AR's are from Olympic Arms and have been reliably champ for me and mine. While some may denigrate various makes and models, what they "think" of the firearm you tote isn't as important as your own confidence in its ability to reliably serve you.

Congratulations on your acquisition and Cheers! beerchug.gif

Congrats!
Now go and BZO it.

Hazing? Nope. My AR15 is a CMMG lower (New), 3 Standard Mags (gun show), Used 20" Colt HBAR Post Ban Flat top w/A2 Carry handle, Used A2 full stock.
Cost? $500 including transfer for the Lower.
Reliability - 100%
Accuracy - Black Hill 55 grain Soft Point - A dime size group for the entire mag at 100 yards.

Hazing? No Hazing here!

Do I care if it gets wet, dirty, or sat on? No! Does it sit in a safe? No! Does it do what I need? YES!!! I prefer a 20" rifle. Get some bands and a mag light.. That is all the tacti-cool you need. :) Good gun. Hope it is does what you need. Welcome to the "DARK" Side...

oh! and a sling ..

Looks like the one i carried in the Marines! I also carried an M-14 frm time to time. Great looking Rifle. It looks great!! Not like the Rambo wannabes with 30# of crap on it!

No hazing form me. All you ever see anymore are M4geries. The classic A2 design is a thing of beauty.

Well I just got back from Eastern Oregon... I LOVE my new AR. Was shooting it at ground squirrels and just missed one at about 200 yards. Oh didn't I mention that was open sight. Everything fed right and was hella accurate. I am thinking though if I am to do more varmit hunting I am going to get a rail that attaches to the carry handle for a scope, just because I don't think the 4x Colt scopes will cut trying to shoot 'em across an alfalfa pivot.

Do we really need to post that redundant and outdated table everytime there is an AR thread?

p.s. get some p-mags from magpul and your problems with cheap mags will be over. pmags are relatively cheap and they are also a cut above the rest... look up "pmag vs truck" on youtube and you will be convinced!

Hazing?? Congrats on the new addition!!! Now go get us a range report!!!

I just pre-ordered my first EBR from Olympic Arms. I went with the K16, but might add the GI-16 or the K3B... still up in the air on that...

There's a 900 gun wait on the Plinker Plus!!! Ugh... was going to order one of those for my son... oh well, I guess he'll have to wait till Xmas...

Ha! Found a thread, 4 months old, but about the C15!

I just bought myself one of these Century C15 Sporters. Got it early last week(first of September). Works great, and fine accuracy. Eats anything 5.56mm or .223 just fine(so far).

I did a bit of research before I bought the Century C15. Basicaly, for the price of the upper and lower parts to assemble my own A2 rifle, I could buy the Century and have a complete rifle in the configuration I wanted. I got mine for right at $600 plus tax, which is within a few dollars of piecing an A2 rifle together.

Lots of internet rumor floating around about these rifles! Supposidly Colt M16A2 surplus rifles from some South American country. Century converted these into the C15 sporters.

I do notice that my identifiable upper parts are Colt marked. The barrel appears to be new, and a heavy barrel to boot. The bolt carrier is re-machined, but is well enough done that I didn't notice it at first. Not nearly as sloppy a machine job as I've heard of on these.

The lower is a forged part, with a mix of new and old internals. Upper to lower fit is fair. I had two rifles to choose from and I chose the tightest fitting one. Furniture is new The upper receiver is re-finished and is a fair match for the new lower. A lot of the small pieces are old parts, somere-finished, some not.

Not a identifying mark visable on the barrel! She has a 1-7 to 1-8 twist, and I think it's chromed, but no telling where the barrel came from. The barrel is almost certainly a new, non military barrel.

Works great! I had carried M16A1 rifles in the National Guard. Briefly using the A2 version before disharging from the Guard. I aquired a Daewoo K1A1 carbine some years back, which is close to an AR but not all that close! The Daewoo does share the same basic design and gas system(the carbine does anyhow).

All that said, the Century Sporter is a decent shooter AR. I suppose it's about like any other Century re-furb and had better be inspected prior to purchase.

Just not a whole lot of factual info around about these Century AR rifles. The Century website doesn't even list the C15 that I could find. Google searches turn up contradictory info, mostly from forums and non owners ragging poor old Century for the shoddy work they've turned out in the past!

Does anybody have any real info about where these rifles came from, or what barrel might be installed?

Thanx, Stevie.

Nice looking rifle and a good price!

There are alot of us here who own and use firearms that others think are ugly, stupid or otherwise weird. As long as you like it who cares what others think!!

How does it shoot? That's the reason you got it!

Have fun and enjoy.

I love the A2 design. All that is left is ammo and fun time. Warning AR15 purchases are usually followed by a progressive reloading press.
