I can't believe I waited so long to get one. I was sent from one pawn to another that "has lots of guns." I just cleared my mind and let the chi wash over me... This is what I found, or, uh... What found me!

Always special when you get your first. I have lots of handguns but a 1911 will always hold a special place for me.

BTW, a Springer Loaded is a great first 1911...

Nice piece. I'd look at buying a set of actual grips for it instead of the wraparound that's on it, but that's just me. Some people love those things. I can't stand them.

And yes, that's not "your 1911", it is indeed just your first. Most people wind up with a couple.

I happen to really like the Springfield offerings, too. I believe that's what yours is?

Ah, welcome to the 1911 addiciton! So much to learn and do with your pistol, and it looks like you're off to a good start with it! Congrats on what will be the start of many to come, I'm sure.

Maybe not the deep end...

But you sure avoided the shallow end of the pool when you dove in.

Most folk start off a bit more basic. I applaud your sense of adventure in your selection - nice!

Yeeeeaaaahhhh, now I'm seeing lots of 1911s...

Sig... Kimber.... Wilson... Remington... And bears, oh my!

I like it. Looks really sharp.

Like the username as well. Pretty clever. I needed the chuckle

That won't pass for a mil-spec 1911 at any place that I go, nor is it a fully tricked out gun. Looks like it might have started life as a mil-spec then got some aftermarket stuff added.

MilSpec with add-ons... Yup

Keen eye...

This thing ain't no Ferrari, it's a Caddy! Heavy, compensated... Luxuriously smooth and comfy!

Nice first 1911 but you do realize that you opened a can of worms right?

I started with just one too and now this below is not even close to all of the ones I have:
