I have wanted an AR since my dad had one when I was twelve. My wife and I were on our way home from vacation and stopped at a gun store. They had a Rock River Entry TAC for $918.00. The gun felt great in my hands and I love the collasible stock. I will use it to carry in my patrol car when my Cheif approves patrol rifles. My questions are, is this a good rifle and was the price good?

It's a great gun.

I like my Bushmaster and my Oly Arms 9mm AR-15.

Key is how much $$$ can you spend.

My RRA NM A4 shoots better than I do....

I shopped for more than six months.

It's the right rifle for me.

You should also look at the S&W M&P15A. I have one and love it. I saw one at the gun show for $869 plus tax. That was $20 less than I paid for mine. Argh!!!

The S&W guns are superb. Around here they sell well because they are really well made and a great value considering what you get.

I have a mixed bag iof ARs, from DPMS to Oly to Mega. I just bought an Oly for my daughter. 16 inch heavy barrel for $699.

Definitely shop around, but get a forged receiver.

Rock River makes a good product. As others have noted, they are not the only reputable manufacturer out there, but a Rock River should give you good service if you go with that option.

For $918 you can build a complete LMT rifle. Rock River doesn't properly stake bolt carrier and they dremel feedramps-which are sometimes downright ugly.
