I just wanted to show off my first AR.It's a Colt 6720.I added a Magpul handle, trigger guard, and a Geissele SSA-E trigger. The scope is a Kahles 2-7X36 with Nikon mounts.I intended this for a light weight short range hunting carbine.
Excellent choice. The gov't profile barrel does nothing for an AR put put extra weight in the worst place for balance with nothing gained unless one is going to mount a grenade launcher. I used the 6720 as a base to build my dream AR.
Light weight and quick. That's the way to go. The only caveat I can offer is my own Colt LE carbine tends to shift point of impact when I get into the sling. So if you're going to be using a sling for hunting you might want to free float the forward swivel. If you're not using a sling for steadying it, there shouldn't be a problem. I've had good results using some dynamic push-pull tension off hand to counteract the lack of weight up front.
That's one of the lightweight models right? Like 5.something lbs empty? Sans glass?
I really like that rifle man. Congrats. That's my next AR. I too dislike the M4gery concept in practice. I like the clean looks of that. I won't hang any accessories off of mine so I don't need rails. Very clean and sharp.

The background is actually split leather.I do leather work and sometimes use it as a background to take photos outside.I can rarely get a good shot inside.

If I'm not mistaken the 6720 is one of the lightest AR's without going polymer.I think it is right at 6 lbs minus scope. The scope is just over 11 OZ and very good glass for the weight. Some of thoes specs Colt lists for their rifles are just not realistic. You basically have to get corect info from actual owners.
