Today i bought my first Auto pistol.Well actually i bought two.Up until now all I've ever owned were rifles ,shotguns and one pistol.A Ruger SRH .480 which i used for hunting. All my guns were for hunting purposes so today i took my first step toward owning personal defense guns.I got a Ruger P90 .45 cal for the house and truck and a Kel Tec P-3AT .380 to carry when the Ruger is to big.I was surprised at how small the P-3AT really was.You can hide this thing just about anywhere.Even though I've shot the Ruger only a few times i like it so far too.I really like the fact it has the decocker and a safety. Is there anything i need to know about either of these two guns.Pros or cons?

Congrates! You've got some good one there. Put a few hundred rounds through each before you bet your life on them. Oh, and check out the belt clip for the P3AT.

I did buy the belt clip with the P3AT.It's a nice little accessory. Thanks for the reply.

I love the lightweight and very small size of my P3AT. The DeSantis Nemesis is a great pocket holster, a Comp-Tac Centerline neck holster will allow concealment under a dark t-shirt when, wearing gym / jogging shorts for example, you don't have enough pocket or waistband to carry it that way. The P3AT is a small gun with necessarily small tolerances so it requires a bit more frequent cleaning. I've gotten surprisingly good accuracy from mine. However, the small size, rudimentary sights require more effort and better trigger control to get that accuracy. It's a trade off, but I think it's worth it for the anywhere and always concealability you get.

The P90 is just a tank of a gun that should eat anything it's fed and require nothing more than basic gun care.

Congratulation on getting two very good pistols. As you use them more I'm sure you'll see that both great guns. The fact that both are reasonably priced, and made in the US by American owned companies (with great customer support) just ices the cake. You did very well.

Mississippi,
Go to this site and follow the directions to make your P-3AT feel like you sent it in for professional trigger job and tuneup. I took my P-32 out the first day and shot it. Later on that night I did the fluff and buff from this site, the next time I took the pistol to the range if felt like a totally different pistol. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Very good choice with the Ruger P90, Mississippi. It's a great shooter, built like a tank and will last you a lifetime. Bulky, yes, but a fine firearm indeed. Mine does not have the safety, just the decocker, but even if you had that, as long as you follow your Four Rules it would not be a problem. Happy shootin.'

I have no experience with the P3at other than holding it, but every P90 I have seen has been very accurate. I have also never seen a Ruger P series have a malfunction before.
