Eight months after an innocent email inquiry, Wild West Guns has finished my first custom: Browning Hi-Power in 9mm.

First thing was to replace the hammer with a C&S Alduro-safe, non-biting type.

Then C&S trigger, sear and single side safety to keep the hammer company.

Jim White did the front, backstrap and top of slide engraving. I'm guessing the WWG logo on the slide sides is rolled (?). Chime in Spiffy - is that a new logo?

Hardchrome satin slide flats and matt frame and top by some outfit whose name I already forgot. Novak bar-dot. De-horn and all work by WWG. Navidrex black micarta grips. I'm kinda stoked :)

Pics are shrunken versions of WWG's progress report on TFL. I'll get some fresh ones taken soon.

A very nice and respectable looking HP! You only mentioned and showed the outside cosmetics, did you have anything done on the insides? Barrel throated or feed ramp polished, mag well beveled? Just curious. Again, great looking HP.

I haven't shot it yet - FFL is at the window watching for the truck - hopefully Monday or Tuesday.

As far as its innards, throating and feed ramp are courtesy of a Bar-Sto replacement (I knew I was forgetting something). Should feed about anything. No magwell work.

I'm looking forward to giving it a good workout. The builder put around 200 rounds through it and pronounced it stutter-free with trigger breaking like a glass rod. He's likely fussier than I am. :)
