So I picked up this little beauty yesterday:

My first CZ ever so I'm pretty excited. Got it from Bud's - SP-01 Tactical. Haven't had a chance to get it to the range yet but so far I'm really impressed. It's a tad on the heavy side but I was surprised how well balanced it is. It just feels really great in the hand. Stripped it down to clean it and get all the crap they pack it in off and fit and finish was very nice. Can't get to the range until Friday so I'll have to wait!

Very nice...

I've been wanting to get my girlfriend a CZ so we can compete in IPSC together.

My first CZ!

the rest of the CZs will follow shortly. :)

deer hunter, do what i did - talk to your squad's RO and just tell him you're going to split your gun with her. when it's her turn to shoot, he'll call a 'range is going hot' and you can show clear, then transfer to your g/f, then she can 'make ready'... then just repeat through the stages. a bit of a pain, but everyone loves to see women shoot so i'm sure they (or your squad) won't mind. better yet, see if you know anyone well enough to loan her a gun! my sp-01 has been loaned out to first time shooters several times.

That is a nice gun. How much you paid for it?

Thanks - well when I ordered it the Bud's cash price was 565 I think, so with the added 3% plastic surcharge it came to 585 delivered. I could only find one SP-01 reasonably close to me and they wanted 630 + 8% tax so the bud's price was pretty good. I did notice though, the day after I ordered mine bud's price jumped from the 565 to 635 for the same gun. So I'm pretty happy - and bud's was great - not a single problem.

That's what I'm afraid of burning - obviously I haven't shot it yet but if it performs as expected I could certainly see a few more CZs in the stable before too long, maybe a P-01 or a RAMI - we'll just have to see.

Congrats, I have the same exact gun in my nightstand right now. Stupid accurate and feels rock solid in my hands. Try some of the hogue wrap arounds, the original grips rock, but the hogue just make the gun feel complete.

unless you've got midget clown hands like me. people like me go with either the thin aluminum or ultrathin flats.

Lol, I have a 75B and a P06 and love the feel, bt I have huge hands. My wife has tiny hands and can hardly reach the trigger with her fingertip....

the thin aluminum grips can make a big difference for small handed shooters... if anything, there's always the SA models or an SAO conversion that i opted for on my race guns.

Really it's not as big as I thought it would be - for whatever reason in pics I've seen I thought it would be heftier, but it's fairly slim. It does have a relatively long reach to the trigger so I could certainly see how petite hands might have a problem, and while I don't have really large hands it's still comfortable.

I have large hands, not beefy or thick but long palm and long fingers. CZ's are one of the few pistols that fit me perfectly. I prefer the CZ factory rubber grips, but I can see where thinner grips would help people with smaller hands.

Now get the Kadet Kit .22 adapter and practice/plink for cheap!
