I've had my new K6S revolver for a few months now, after waiting several months to get it, but it was worth the wait, this new offering is the first revolver Kimber has come out with and it is truly a quality well thought out gun, the lock up is solid just like the Freedom Arms 454 Casual, it locks up like a closed vault, and the cylinder to forcing gap must be around .001,(why it is so accurate) and the back of the cylinder is as tight as I have ever seen on a revolver, the back of the cylinder is recessed so your casing is completely covered, this gun is very accurate for a short barreled gun like this, and handles the 357 mag. rounds very well, but I will be carrying 38 +P for carry, as for carry it is perfect, all edges are cut and polished at a 45 degree angle, totally melted for carry, I'm using DeSantis holsters, both IWB, AND OWB, depending on what I'm wearing for the day, the sights are plain, but right on, the Crimson Trace laser-less grips are great, not sure how they did this, but they allow a good none slip grip, having 6 rounds of 357 or 38+P in a small revolver that handles recoil as well as the K6S does makes my K6S a perfect back or main carry gun, so it has become part of my EDC rotation guns, I wanted to post this because I didn't see any other post on this gun...here is a link to Hickoc 45

How do you find the DOA trigger to be?
The trigger is awesome. Smooth as silk, but what is nice, I can stage the trigger, then when ready have a crisp break, it was different than I was use to in a DAO gun, but I really like the way it works, the more I use it the more I like it, it is a great carry gun trigger IMHO

I didn't even know they had become available. I'd be interested in one if I ever see one anywhere.
I had one on order from my LGS, for months, with no results, then I stopped by another LGS, and bang, the owner brings out this K6s, he had 10 on order, but only one came in, he was just showing it off for a couple of weeks, and then decided to let it go, so I grabbed it up, I paid full price $899.00, but I don't feel bad, so far it was worth it, and continues to bring a smile to my face, but then all my guns do LOL...

Let me do some quick ciphering-- a S&W 640, which is pretty similar overall except for holding 5 rounds, lists at 729, or 145.80 per chamber. At 899, the Kimber is 149.83 per chamber. The extra four dollars per chamber doesn't seem excessive to me, especially considering the item's relative rarity. :D

It's my understanding that after the amount of orders they got at SHOT 2016, the dealers were told they would get one K6S for each $10,000 in orders they placed in 2015.

They are also being shipping on six week cycles. That would explain why they've been so hard to find.

. . . the cylinder to forcing gap must be around .001,(why it is so accurate). . .

The B/C gap has little to do with accuracy unless it's dramatically wide, and if it really is 0.001 you wouldn't be able to fire more than a dozen or two rounds without dragging and jamming.

I would expect Kimber to set the gap more thoughtfully than that. You need a set of feeler gauges.

I'm not sure about this $10,000.00 for sold Kimbers in 2015, between both these LGS, they buy more than three times that in guns per year from Kimber, both these gun-shop owners are friends of mine, they say they have no idea why it is,and has taken so long to get these K6S guns in...part of it is a re-design early on, on the back strap, this is most likely what the delay is all about, the guns coming out now are the refined models with a more comfortable back strap, and help in felt recoil...

I'm no dummy, I used .001 as a point in tightness, I haven't checked mine with a feeler gauge,I set my Dan Wesson vented heavy at .002, and it's recommended by Dan Wesson, and this does aid in accuracy and follow up shots are not a problem, my S&W 686's are much wider, around .005 to .006, I have others that run at .008, and are much less accurate, my K6S is very tight, and fouling is not a problem, but I don't run lead bullets through it, I save the lead for Cowboy action shooting...

ROD KLOMP, welcome to THR! Thank you for your review. I had already watched Hickok's review. I would really like to see one in the LGS.

Thank you Kcofohio, and I wish there were more at the LGS to, so far I think I'm the only guy here in Southern Oregon that has one, but that should change pretty soon. Merry Christmas...

I had the pleasure of handling one at my local shop. It was certainly well made. The trigger was good. It was just a little heavy for a snub.

Hi fireman 9731, it felt a little heavy to me also at first, but when it comes to carrying it, it isn't a problem at all , where the little extra weight pays of is in the balance and handling, the little extra weight makes a huge difference in recoil management over my lighter S&W Airweight, or even my 60 , and that gun only shoots 38+P, but there is a tad of a trade off, but at 6'3" it doesn't have any affect on me ,like it might on a smaller person or Lady, just like any gun, it has to say YES to me, and this gun continues to say yes to me..

You know the saying on gun forums man............ If there's no pics, it didn't happen. ;) Let's see this beast, and if you would, can you post some size comparison pics next to your model 60?

I like the looks of the revolver but I'm not a fan of the price tag. I can't spend that much money on a revolver especially when I already have a similar revolver. (The S&W M640)

I examined one of these at this years NRA convention and decided on the spot that I had to have one. Finally last week my LGS got 5 in and one had my name on it. Once you have a K6S in hand the build quality it apparent, this is a very high quality revolver. The trigger is fantastic, if you like Rugers LCR trigger you're going to love the K6S trigger. These revolvers are selling so well I'm sure different models will appear and I'd love to see one with a 3" barrel. WELL DONE KIMBER. fullsizeoutput_12c2.jpeg fullsizeoutput_12c3.jpeg fullsizeoutput_12c3.jpeg fullsizeoutput_12c3.jpeg

I was asked to post some photos of my K6S and some of my other revolvers, so anyone could see the size comparison between them, holsters by DeSantis Gun Leather...
