460shooter, some times seeing can make a big difference in our choices, I like all my guns, and I'm not one to try and sell guns for any company, but when I like something I have no problem sharing, Happy New Year to you and yours...

I am glad to see that revolver innovation is continuing. It looks like a high quality gun and will cause other manufacturers to consider a competitive model.

I like the looks and being a six shooter is a big plus. Are there any full size grip options yet? For iwb carry, I prefer a three finger grip over two.

Yesterday I went to my kinda local range and did some shooting with my girlfriend. The range session was fun and a good time.

In the display case I spied a brand new shinny Kimber K6S. I of course had to fondle it.

The fit and finish was excellent and it seemed ideal for carry with all the rounded off edges, and a 6th round, as opposed to a 5 round J frame. The grip definitely was on the small side for me. I need more meat on the back strap than that gun had, and I could tell it would beat the hell out of me if I was shooting 357s out of it in it's stock configuration. None the less, for a smaller handed person it would make a nice carry gun for sure.

It pointed fairly naturally for me, but I found the black on black sights a little hard to pick up. My eyes aren't the greatest though, and I'm sure there will be other options in the future. A white rectangle, and a low profile red ramp front sight would be welcomed.

The trigger felt very stagey to me and would take some getting used to, as was mentioned earlier by the OP. It did however break very cleanly and felt good. However, I did notice an issue I really didn't like. I apparently found the exact spot on that gun where there was a bit of an issue. If I tried to pull the trigger quickly as if shooting defensively, I managed to some how get the cylinder to advance, but the firing pin would not release. So I basically had a dead trigger. It happened 4 or 5 times, but I did not notice if it was on a particular chamber or not.

I'm assuming this particular example had a problem and not that it is indicative of the design. ROD KLOMP, have you fiddled around with the trigger a great deal dry firing? I noticed that when I pulled the trigger very firmly and allowed a full reset almost to where my finger came almost entirely off the trigger it would operate properly.

I do not currently have the funds to buy one, and don't particularly need one. I don't think I would have bought this particular example based on the trigger experience. I'd like to handle another one before putting down money.

All in all it was a nice gun, but I'd like a little longer barrel and a little larger grip personally. That trigger issue really bothered me.

460 shooter, I haven't had any issues with mine, and I liked that I can stage the trigger to a point that it just takes a light touch of my trigger finger to have a crisp break, it's like a single action this way, I have fired my gun in rapid fire without a hiccup, no problems, shooting the 357 Magnum is a hand full, but controllable for me, but others will sure to have a different experience I'm sure, I like that if needed, I can load this gun with the 357, but I will carry mine for the most part with 38 Special +P, it's hard to call when just handling a gun as to how it will perform, I'm a big guy with big hands, but like the way the K6S feels in my hand, but we are all different, and not everything is for every body, thanks for your opinion 460 Shooter...

The trigger is awesome. Smooth as silk, but what is nice, I can stage the trigger, then when ready have a crisp break, it was different than I was use to in a DAO gun, but I really like the way it works, the more I use it the more I like it, it is a great carry gun trigger IMHO
It stages like an old Dan Wesson? I really liked that feature of the action.

Very nice. These are having quite the cult following due to high marks in reviews. If it weren't for the new Colt Cobra, I'd probably buy one. But supposedly the Colt will retail for $699 MSRP, less than this I think. And, it's a Colt. Can't beat that!

I look forward to seeing this new Colt, when is it supposed to come out?, I have a variety of gun brands, and always have an open mind to new offerings...

I'm glad to hear your example doesn't exhibit the issue I noticed with the example I looked at. I guess I was maybe just short stroking the trigger, but it just seemed odd to me.

I did like the way the trigger staged. It was a smooth advance and in rapid fire, I don't think I'd even notice it, but if shooting slowly it would definitely be a benefit.

I've got larger hands, but they are very boney and thin. As a result my grip is not the firmest and heavy recoiling, small guns tend to really rock around and beat me up. I just don't have much padding on my hands. A hand filling grip really helps me out as my hand wrist and elbows serve as the recoil buffers, rather than the web of my hand.

All in all I thought the K6s was really nice, and in a lot of ways, ideal for a small concealable revolver. If I was in the market, It's probably what I'd buy. But, I'd make a few alterations to optimize it for me. Enjoy the new gun!
