This gun has a B&C stock, TT primary trigger, magpul AI bottom metal with Ruger 3rnd aics mag. The muzzle brake is from a company I believe called Northwest Precision but I'll have to look it up again.
I assembled this one a year or so ago.

Thanks, I really like the 7mm08 weight is nice to, just really wish they had a locking bolt.

Went today to a nicer small sporting goods store about 35 miles away they had the same as your ridgeline used for $1100 forgot to check what cartridge tho. It looked brand new tho.

Another shop had a very nice savage 110E in 243 for $299 I should have maybe offered $250 the birch or whatever the wood was looked fine but rather be walnut or synthetic.

One heck of a family their Loon...

Loon there was an Original discussion earlier on about your 7-08. In your opinion is the Ridgeline worth the extra bucks over the Mesa? They are the same except for the carbon wrap barrel on specs. I have my local looking for a Mesa in 7-08. I want the tungsten color option and it's a hard find in 7-08...

Troy I will take one of those 1100 buck Ridgelines as well even if it's a 6.5 creed which is all my local can find except on GB.

Yes and no....
It really depends on what you want from the rifle. The carbon wrap allows for a longer heavier profile barrel at the same weight, but if basically having a "varmint" barreled sporter weight rifle isnt useful/wanted, then spending the extra 800 bucks is probably not worth it.
Honestly i dont think the Ridgeline is much if any more mechanically accurate than the Mesa.....but i know its easier to shoot.

I’m going to pull the trigger on a 280Ai in the next week or so. The Ridgeline is on the short list.

That also brings up an advantage to the Ridgeline, or specifically the carbon wrapped barrel, over the the Mesa or other light weight steel only barrels.
The noticeably stiffer, longer barrel for the same weight and only a slight change in ballance, allows for better ballistic with nearly the same "feel"
With the 280AI and the 26" tube, can equal or surpass the velocity of any of my previous 24" 7mm Remington magnums.

The Bible says fellow Christians should congregate together.

Maybe this also applies to Christensens?
They are welcome to congregate here!

Great opportunity to have them upgrade to 8-48s.....
Yeah I'm like even if a gun Smith did the job it would be less then $200, was a long day yesterday looking at so many guns I would have inquired more about the gun but my head was already full of other guns lol.

They did have a new Browning blr 7mm08 for $800 which is a good deal now. Would have probably walked out with it if I had the money.

I may have to try a mesa some day and use a rubber band on the bolt, they seem like good value.

Yeah a good machine shop or smith probably wouldnt charge a ton to open the holes and re-thread.
I still want to get a BLR.... probably will eventually.....

Ya know im kinda surprised there arnt any bolt locking "kits" available. It would be pretty easy to retrofit and old style locking system to the 700 clones. Especially if it was a featured added during production.....just need triggers made with the locking tabs and some extra milling.

Aerospace stuff, but think carbon barrels were the first thing they made.
True as far as I know. The Invar pillars and carbon wraps were sorts their signature parts.
Actually that 6.5 Carbon is pretty close to an "original" Christensen carbon barreled rifle....ones i drooled over in highschool.

Thanks for compliments guys!

I need to locate some of that carbon strands and try to make a barrel someday, I think it could do some on a lathe turned by hand. Use the threading screw as a level line like a fishing real to go back and forth, a tensioner would be easy to make. Just have to find what resin to used and I don't think you have to vacuum like normal since the tight wrap will do that.

Troy and LoonWulf I know how much you both admire the 7mm-08. I had a BLR in 7mm-08 and sold it to a close friend for his daughter to use.
My only regret in buying it was that it wasn't a 358 win. Lever Actions in my mind should be hammer cartridges. I think the 7-08 should be in a lightweight bolt. Just my opinion...

I passed on a stainless takedown 358 2 years ago and I'm still regretting that.
