My paperwork came in Friday 8/14/2009, I sent paperwork 4/22/2009, it went pending 6/18/2009. Not too bad of a wait compared to my suppressor.

I took it to the range yesterday, but the range I went to only allows you to shoot slowly with 3 seconds between shots. I figured that's a little slower than 750 rpm so I put it on semi. I sighted in the EOTech and the BUIS, really looking forward to running this on full auto soon.

I can't believe how heavy the gun is, it's really a nice little compact package, but it's way heavier than I would have expected.

So far I only put 36 rounds through it to function test and sight in the optics. It ran without a hitch though, hopefully it runs well on full auto.

Does the folding stock get in the way of the charging handle? In other words, can you fire it with the stock folded?

The MAC was supposed to be an inexpensive firearm. Now you've taken it to the other extreme. It's time to get a suppressor. :D

Talk to me about the conversion to use UZI mags. Are the mags modified in any way? What's involved in converting the Mac lower?

That makes the whole idea much more interesting for me.

But aren't you worried it'll use it's jedi mind control on you and cause you to go on a killing spree?

Looks fun though. How much are permits for SBRs and autos, $ wise? If it's not too ungodly much, I was thinking about putting in the paperwork for one, that way if I ever have the money to actually buy one I'd already have the permit.

That's not how things work. You get a tax stamp for each item, paid after paying for the item to be transferred to you. Each stamp is $200, except for AOWs, which are $5 to transfer.

PTK's correct. Machineguns require a $200 tax stamp to transfer. After 1986, no machineguns can be manufactured or imported, so there's a fixed supply in the country. What makes the Mac's nice is that the lowers are the firearm and there are a lot of accessories and uppers available. It's kind of like the AR of the machinegun world.

Mine cost around $3400 and then I paid extra to have the Uzi grip put on it. The folding stock, foregrip and upper came from Lage and was around $1200 if I remember correctly.

The original Macs used plastic Zytel mags for the most part which are not cheap and are pretty crappy from what I've read. Many people do a sten conversion which allows the use of sten mags. The downside with sten mags (as I understand it) is that they are double stack, single feed. So they're not all that easy to load. The Uzi mags are double stack, double feed, so you can just push the round down on the top of the mag and it clicks into place. No pushing down and sliding the round in to load it. I got 9 Uzi mags (32 round magazines) for about $90 bucks or so. About ten bucks per mag, pretty cheap. They're steel, sturdy and plentiful. I got my Mac and uzi conversion from Sam at Practical Solutions. He also did the work on the Lage upper so it would work with the Uzi grip.

Blakenzy- I should be able to shoot it with the stock closed. The charging handle reciprocates as it fires, but there is space between it and the top of the folded stock. It actually touched at first, but you can adjust the stock and I moved it so it was slightly lower and left some space.

Can't wait to shoot it full auto!

Am I the only one who thinks the Uzi grip looks completely out of place...? I understand the practicality of it, but it looks very strange to me. Just my opinion!

Other than that, looks fantastic. The first Mac I've seen that didn't offend my aesthetic tastes. Congrats on your purchase! Sadly, I will probably never enjoy the world of full auto fire, unless I happen to make some new friends. :)

That's about the only way to make a M10 usable. Good job.

Gotta agree with that. After running a few mags through a bone-stock MAC10/9, I can fully understand why your gun has the mods it does. Should be tons of fun!

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it...and where did you buy it?
And the most important question: why did you buy it?

Bank heist planned, to recover the $4,900 cost? ;)

Does there need to be a reason to buy a nice gun? ;)

If I had to think of a reason, it's to complement my sniper rifle... Now I can deal with anything near or far...

My dog's impressed....

Why buy a cool Class III weapon?

Well, why buy high speed internet when dial-up works? Why buy an LCD TV when you can hook up an HD antenna to an old B&W box?

Because he had the money for it, and he wanted to own one.

SR- you need a thigh holster for that bad boy.

When I first saw the title and the first picture I thought that that thing was a photoshop job. Looks nice, wish we could have them here :(

Your dog is not only impressed. He matches your rifle! Good dog.
Nice toys.

I had the poor cousin to your M10 the Cobray M11/9 back when the first AWB was looming. Funny, I never had an interest in such a pistol until someone was about to say I couldn't have one. I remember at the time it came with 2 of those crap Zytels. I remember picking up 3 30round steel magazines for it, no modification necessary. IIRC it was from some place that advertised in the back of the gun rags that sold magazines, fake suppressor barrel extensions, folding wire stocks, etc. Low end tacticool stuff but the mags were good steel ones. Sorry if I can't remember who made them. It was a long time ago and I only had the M11 for a short time. It was a fun plinker but without the happy switch I soon came to regard it as a clunky, cheap handgun. Also I remember mine would occasionally fart out a 2 or 3 round burst. It was only a semi and it was always an unpleasant surprise. Guy at my gun shop who claimed to be familiar with the guns said they weren't the most exacting bit of engineering and when they get worn they could do that. Anyone know about that?
Yours on the other hand is way cool.
