I picked up a nice little Savage '99 carbine with a Weaver K3 post yesterday; although it isn't a '99H. I believe it is a '99 EG in 250-3000 made around 1952 or 1953.

Thanks. Some older gentleman bought it new and cut the barrel and stock down to fit himself ( about 5'2" tall) several decades ago.

someone needs to tell the toy at the top right that weebles wobble, but they don't fall down.

Wish Savage would bring this gun back

Nice lever action. Cool old-school steel body scope, too! Straight tube design complements the rifle's aesthetics, looks perfect. Sling swivels already installed, it's ready for hunting.

The only downside I could ever find in the Model 99 was it always seemed a bit heavy. Maybe, that was just my perception.

Don't think a shorter barrel will hurt the .250-300 to bad. It's not that kind of cartridge.
