While not chrome plated , I have MY new Bar-b-que gun. When I pick it up in 10days it WILL be my first posted picture(am getting a friend to professionally take picture and post it!), yes it is THAT good! I was in my favorite gun shop looking at the 329PD and considering if it was worth $775 over my 629 Mountain revolver of 89. I saw in the case next to the 329 a strange looking 4" heavy barrel Colt New service completely engraved in "bank note style" , it was marked down from $1500 to $750 sitting on a factory letter stating it was a 1917model made in 1918. On the reverse side of Factory letter was this info: Modifacations by Cylinder and Slide; Trigger job,New bolt spring, new main spring, new latch pin assembly, New front sight installed with platinum wire and dovetail mount test fired and sighted in to hit center at 15yds with ball ammo, chamfer chamber mouths, straighten crane,, install ball detent on crane, eliminate end shake, weld and recut hand, index cylinder chambers, build and install new Douglas barrel , build and install underlug, target crown and forcing cone mods. Cost of modifacations $1084, Custom French Walnut ROY FISHPAW round butt combat handgrips $225, 50% banknote engraving and Royal Blue and Colt letter by custom shop; $975. Gun came with the following extras(looks like) Lou Alessi belt holster, 10 full moon clips, demooner tool, stag grips, original lanyard ring(which screws right in) original main spring and barrel. When I saw $750 price out came the plastic!!!!!oh still my beating heart THE PERFECT FIGHTING PISTOL is now mine(and my heirs)!!!!!! :
