When I saw this rifle, I had to buy it. It's built by FA Cugir in Romania, has a chrome-lined bore/chamber/gas block, and RPK adjustable rear sights (not sure they are needed). The barrel is cold-hammer forged. Some might dismiss this rifle by calling it a fancy WASR, but personally, every WASR that I have ever shot functioned flawlessly and was built like a tank. Overall, the M10-762 is very sturdy and well-put-together. I have been pleased with all of my previous Romarm/Cugir rifles and this on continues that trend.

Before I bought the rifle, I had the furniture that I was going to buy all planned out, but after receiving it, I've changed those plans a bit. I was sure that the forend was going to be junk, but in fact, I quite like it and have no plans on replacing it. It is very solid seems to be well-made.

Conversely, the Tapco mag and buttstock are an absolute joke. I've not bought a Tapco product up to this point (as far as I know) and will make sure that I never do... unless they really improve the quality of their products. The Tapco mag will actually come out of the mag well when pulled rearward. The front lip is practically non-existent. All of my steel mags fit nice and snug, with a scant amount of wobble in any direction. I actually called COgunsales to complain about the Tapco mag and they told me that they had been receiving numerous complaints from their vendors regarding the Tapco mags. I expected it to end there, but the guy said that they would have a Bulgarian 30-rounder in the mail for me ASAP. He also said they were in the process if ditching the Tapco mags and switching over to the Bulgarian.

The Tapco buttstock feels like something that was pulled straight from a children's toy and installed on the M10. Photos do not do this Tapco stock justice. I like the feel of the Hogue grip, but do not like how it looks on my rifle and probably end up going with a Mako grip.

Anyway, I swapped out the junk Tapco buttstock for the Mako side-folding buttstock. The Mako stock can be configured to fold to either side and has an adjustable cheek riser. It fits snug and has no play. I really like the Mako stock and In my opinion, it is currently the best AK buttstock on the market.

I went with the BP-02 side mount and topped it off with a Swift 3-9x40... will probably go with another scope, but that's all I have for now.

I am really looking forward to shooting this rifle. Quite a few are claiming 2 MOA. If I can get that I will be quite pleased and extremely happy that I passed on an Arsenal. I will definitely post my range results after I get a chance to shoot it. Lastly, I have benefited a great deal from many of reviews on here and figured that I would try to contribute.:)

US Parts:

Follower
Trigger
Hammer
Disconnector
Grip
Forend
Muzzle Break

With there being a total of 16 parts on the AK that qualify, I'm fairly comfortable saying that I am compliant. Although, I am not sure why you are questioning my compliance in my thread. Perhaps you could do the polite thing and PM me regarding your concerns... that is if you are actually concerned rather than just being rude.

Not trying to be rude, just wondering about the forearm and the folding stock... Also many people start changing out parts without regard to 922r, and I doubt anyone has been locked up over it, it's best to be cautious.

Typically the imported rifles get the following parts:
Tapco Trigger group - 3 US parts
Tapco mag - 3 US parts
Tapco stock - 1 US part
Tapco muzzle device - 1 US part

Right there would be 8 US parts.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good looking rifle, if I had the $$$ right now, I'd buy one, what make is the forearm? I'm looking for something to put on my Saiga rifle.

To be honest, your comment did seem slightly rude and annoying, but if you say that was not your intent, I'll certainly take your word for it. In all of my forum perusing (and I do a lot of forum reading), I have yet to see a post where someone accused another person of having a rifle that was not 922r compliant in the manner in which you went about it. In my opinion, those types of points should be made discretely, via private message.

Anyway, the forend has M&M stamped on it... not sure who actually makes it though. COgunsales confirmed that this is a US-made part.

The buttstock is made in Israel and imported by the Mako Group.

In it's stock setup, this rifle has 10 (out of a possible 16) US parts.

Mag = 3
Trigger Group = 3
Buttstock = 1
Grip = 1
Forend = 1
Muzzle Break = 1

I shot it quite a bit. The rifle is definitely capable of 2 MOA (heck, maybe better) with Golden Tiger. This thing is legit. Best of all, it's built like a tank. Initially I was considering a Saiga, but now, I'll never think of or look at Saiga.

damn been following this particular rifle for a while now, and thanks for posting. been doin some research on saigas but never had one and probably never will unless it comes to our shores as a true type akm style rifle. but after seeing your review i might have to pick one up. i have 3 romanian firearms and very satisfied with them, sorry saiga my moneys goin to the romys:)

Pity they.shortened the sight.radius...if you are unable to move the.front.sight closer to the muzzle,I' d consider a Techsight,or a Krebs Rear Sight Rail....

Nice, I hear that configuration is the "future" of Ak rifles.....

Is that how they are coming in now, or did you have to search that out?

Very Nice.
