I just picked this up at Bud's Gun Warehouse in Lexington. I just could not wait for my STI Trojan Custom to arrive in September (I hope). It is a Colt MK IV Series 70 9mm with LPA sights and 3 magazines for $742 out the door. It should out shoot my G34 Glock, but if does not the STI surely will. I really needed this like a painfull itch, but it was a Colt, probably should have waited for the STI to arrive, but it was a Colt.

Ha. I used to go to Bud's often when I lived on Richmond Road in LEX. Nice score! I'd take that as a concillation to an STI any day. You will NOT be dissapointed. Actually, I'd buy that over an STI every day of the week and twice on Sunday. :D

Something about a 30+ year old Colt (even a 9mm) that the best modern 1911s can't match. I have yet to shoot this one, but it will not be long, maybe tomorrow. I would have prefered it being completely original, but still feel like I stole it. You should see the new store and range in Lex., it is impressive, but I do like the small shops too. It's hard to deal on price when there are 30 customers trying to throw money at the staff all at the same time. It was around 2:00 in the afternoon on a Thursday, like a firearm feeding frenzy, and I was the biggest shark in the tank.

Thats a great looking gun. I'm sure you'll like it as its hard not to like Colt 1911s.

Me, I prefer the original 1911 in 9mm the LW commander. One day I'll find one for a reasonable price. I hope I like as much as the 45 LW commander that I stupidly traded years ago.

It it where their LEO store was on Winchester Road? I used to go to the Paris, store/range, but moved before the new one was finished. Bud's is a great dealer.

Pilot, they moved to the corner of Eastland Pkwy and Industry Rd. It is the new home of Bud's Gunshop.com and Gun Warehouse retail store and 25 lane range. Bud's in Paris may be changing hands again and may have a name change too, or so I'm told. The Bluegrass is a great place to shop for guns, and the Bluegrass Sportsman's League is a great place to shoot. Thanks everyone for the nice comments on an old pistol, I'm stoked it's my first Colt. I was going to shoot it today but my beautiful wife had other ideas... I'm a lucky man! Maybe Saturday, I hope, I'll post a range report here if I do.

I think they're currently called jetguns.com and will be changing the name at the end of the month. They were a wholesaler for Bud's for a long time. Made a purchase there a few days ago. Pleasant transaction and about $40 less expensive than Bud's. :)
