after a long wait, I was finally able to pick up my glock 27. I didn't plan on going to the range today but school starts next week and I don't think I will find much free time after that so I went to a local range with my cousin. My intent for this weapon is for ccw and perhaps a backup duty weapon if I do get hired in law enforcement in the near future.

well, I plan to carry it with the short magazine followed by a spare full size magazine. I was quite disappointed that the full size magazine had feeding issues in the subcompact. Every other shot the bullets were tilted down. never had this problem with the full size glock. The full size magazine did fit loose in the subcompact and perhaps my pinky caused it??? However, the short magazines worked fine and gun ran 100%. Anyone have this same magazine issue?

Also I brought one of my favorites, the chiappa 1911-22 just for the fun of it. The gun was fairly reliable in the past until it started jamming after a few magazines today. About the 6th magazine the barrel bushing broke and the spring and rod came flying out. Lol I'll be contacting chiappa.

other than that it was quite an interesting day at the range. Now I know why they call it the bulldog. My hand started hurting after about a few magazines. I later stopped to buy an extra g27 mag and extension. Too bad they only had two extensions in stock. Now I can finally get a grip. if you'll excuse me, I have some cleaning to do. (sorry no targets)

I've learned to like the glock triggers, I stage the trigger then finish off with a very slow pull.

Love the 27. I carried this one for a while.... then I discovered the G36.

for beginners i bought a desantis apache ankle holster, it seems fairly good and just small enough to conceal. after a while I don't even feel it on my leg, just the feeling of the velcro strap.

has anyone used the g23 or g22 magazines in the g27? A guy at the range says for the 9mm the g26 took all three 9mm magazines in his experience. I'm a bit worried because I've never seen a glock magazine follower tilt before. Wish I had gotten a pix of it but the g22 magazine follower kept tilting in the g27. there was some play in when it was seated in the g27. weird.

I also like the G22/G27 combo for SD/HD as they use the same magazines (I always practice with the G22 magazine as they are my spares to G27 mags). G22/G23 mags work fine in the G27. I would first check to see if you have any burr/damage inside the magazine tubes that's causing the magazine follower to catch/bind and check the wear on the magazine spring/follower and replace them if worn as they will affect bullet presentation angle.

Try a new G22 magazine in G27. If the rounds feed reliably, then your G22 mags are suspect.

I run my G27 with Pearce +1 mag base extension for 10+1 carry. Here's mine with 10-9 conversion barrel for practicing with 9mm.

The 27 is my only 40 and I like it a lot.I use my my 22mags I bought for my sub 2000 and they work fine in mine.

the g22 mags are a few years old, I use them for hunting and leave them loaded from time to time for hd, perhaps the spring is weak? the thing is all three g22 mags did the same thing in the g27. I did take them apart yesterday for cleaning and didn't notice anything wrong with it. I'll check again. they are the new right hand mags, not the newer 4th gen reversible mags. the g27 mags are the newest one.

I you don't have access to different G22 mags to try, you could always block the bottom of the spring to increase the spring tension and see if it makes any difference. If the rounds feed well with increased spring tension, you need new springs. I would also replace the mag followers if they are worn.

I usually use Wolff extra power springs for replacement - http://www.midwayusa.com/product/78...-24-31-34-35-high-capacity-10-pct-extra-power

I had issues with some older G22 mags in my G27. Awhile back, Glock increased the spring weight in the mags in order to increase feed reliability. They went from a 10 coil spring to an 11 coil spring. When I upgraded my springs, the feed problems went away.

The G27 cycles faster than its bigger 40 cal brothers and its 9mm cousins. So feed jams are probably going to be best addressed with a stronger mag spring.

Looks like your G22 mags are recent manufacture, with the ambi cut? They ought to work fine. But adding an aftermarket +10% spring might help.

the g22 mags are not the ambi cut ones but the g27 ones are. I'll replace the spring and see.
