I installed Pearson +1 extensions on my Glock 27 magazines, mainly to give me a little more to hold on to.

Of course, the extension has increased the capacity from 9 to 10. The additional round is quite a bit harder to load into the magazine. Has any Glock owner ever experienced a feed problem, or perhaps a bottom plate to pop off a magazine due to having the additional round?

Thanks,

Randy

I've always loaded my G27 -1rd: 8 stock, 9 +1. That last round's fit never made me comfortable. I load all my other Glocks -2 in the mag with one in the pipe. It really seems to help preserve the mag springs.

I have heard of some feed issues with the +1. These days I just use the pinky finger +0 extension. Even though it is not common, G27 40SW have been known to have a case fail on occasion. When this happens it generally blows the mag out with some force. I would prefer to have my pinky finger in front of the mag rather than curled underneath it.

Some major brands of premium ammo have case "smiles" that look a bit scary when fired in my G27.

Thanks -- I guess since the normal is 9 rounds I'll go with 9 + 1, rather than pushing it to 10 + 1.

And I never thought of the added advantate of the extension putting one's pinky in front of the mag. I'm sure I'm more suseptible to a problem than many since I reuse my .40 cal brass (in an aftermarket barrel with a supported chamber).

I've been reading a lot about Glock 27's on various forums for about two years. This thread is the first time I have ever heard of it being possibly dangerous to curl the pinky underneath.

Anyway, I use concealablecontrol.com on my Glock 27 and load the magazine -1 (8 rounds). I am not comfortable with the tightness of the last round. A spring may be worn out in the following ways: usage, over-extension or over-compression. It's possible that the last (9th) round in a Glock 27 causes the magazine spring to over-compress. If not, it's probably darn close to over-compressing.

I would back off to 8 +1 rather than 9 +1, but sure don't like to lose that round. With my luck, if I ever do need to defend myself, it would be that 10th round that I would need the most.
