I think that is a Chinese SKS-M

They are much rarer than the regular Norinco SKS's (I could be wrong) It should take standard AK-47 magazines

I see them going for about $350-$450 depending on condition.

is it a SKS D or an M? i know i should have known before getting it but well, here i am

Suspect it's just a standard SKS with a aftermarket mag. When you remove the mag does it have a tongue on the front? SKS D or M use standard AK mags and fetch a higher price.

What is the arsenal stamp on the side?

A lot of prospective buyers are going to consider the aftermarket mag a bad thing that need to be replaced. If it had the original mag and is otherwise in very good condition, I'd say $250-$300. With that mag I'd be more likely to ask for $220 or so. BSW

Looks exactly like mine. I bought a detachable 30 round mag for mine, works decent with 25 rounds loaded. Still like the look and feel of the 10 round box mag better.

Wait til Osama...errr...Obama gets in office. If certain legislation passes, that rifle will increase in value, significantly.

I wouldn't say that the people who have problems with detachable SKS mags are limited solely to Yugos. I remember having a few Chinese and Romanian SKSs, long before Yugos were in the country, and they had problems with aftermarket mags. But try it first. I have noticed that they seem to jam more when you fire rapidly than slowly.

thanks again guy, what do you think about getting a syenhitic stock(I want anEBR:evil:) does that make me a poser? or am i poser just for asking if it makes me one:D

A can of spray paint will get your rifle just as black as a synthetic stock, at a MUCH cheaper cost.

My Chinese, like the one pictured, seems to do fine when I slow fire with my 30 rnd mounted underneath it. The problem isn't the gun, it's the magazine. You might have to file, bend, etc. to coax it to feed right.

It's legal to have a high capacity magazine if the bayonet lug is removed. My bayonet lug has been removed, making it legal to install a high capacity mag. Pretty sure mine is pre-ban anyways.

That looks a lot like the Chinese one I bought 15 or 20 years ago. Mine still has the 10-round stripper clip in it. But I have a few 30-round mags with the "leg" on them that fit it too.

How do I insert images into a post?

Thanks,
Les

Sks

Norinco arms isn't allowed to import firearms into the US. Apparently they where selling alot of full auto's to southern gangs under the table, just like the Chinese to try and destabilize the Us. The service versions of the sks are much better I've owned a couple russian, a yugo and a norinco. The norinco has a stamped trigger and the parkarizing is the ****s. Though for a $130 its hard to pass up. Don't bother buying a bunch of crap for an sks its not worth it and won't shoot any better. Having a couple of cheap realiable sks's and a case of ammo is great for home defence.

I removed the 30rd mag and replaced a 10 round, to appease the powers that be  but i will be thinking about buying a compliance kit so i can turn my sks into a WMD :neener:
