It's nice to see "high roller" stop by. Thank you for sharing very nice gun. You're tempting me to dump my Colt to get one of them 'No Name' ones from GunCrafters.

Sweet! I have a 9mm Commander size 1911 and it's one of my favorites.

Bill.45

Very nice Wilson CQB Commander Compact! Really like the Commander length slide with the compact size frame.

Are you going to change your name to Bill.9?
Very nice indeed. A family heirloom as well.

Why does the man/woman have to be a high roller?

Gun Crafter is another "custom" builder with a excellent rep. It's a hard decision now a day to decide which custom maker to favor with your hard earned dollars. I'm way up in my years, sold most of my collectible WWI and WWII .45s after not re-newing my C&R Lic. So, I decided to treat my self with part of the money to one last 1911 built the way I wanted it. At my age the .45 is a little bit of a jolt to shoot.. My macular degeneration, and now the onset of glaucoma, prevents the joy of handgun shooting to drop way down. This is my second WC 9mm CQB. The first came with a factory shot target that I could cover the shots with a dime. My two adult kids are both shooters and will have fun with the guns I leave.

I guess the one I was thinking of is called the Pinnacle, but now I have drool on my keyboard.:)

The Ed Browns are Signature, but either way, it will be some time before I can afford either.:D

Edit: I just saw the Mastodon. I am running out of paper towels!

Demi, Dan Wesson's fine Autos will serve you well before you gift yourself with whatever custom you choose. My safe holds four DW guns that will shoot about as well as my WC. My favorite is the full size
9mm with their duty treat finish. It was marked as "Blem" and offered at a heavy discount. I went over the gun in a search at the marked spots and I swear you can't find anything in the finish (the only thing they pick as blemishes) that is unsatisfactory. Any mechanical is still covered by there warranty. DWs are great guns. Stag 3.JPG

Some just prefer the finer things. I drive a rusty truck so I can shoot a nice nineteen eleven.
I'm more utilitarian. I drive a 14 year old SUV that is very well maintained, and choose mundane 1911s like the RIA to have plenty of money left over for ammo!

How "great" would one of these heirloom guns still be as heirlooms after the 25K and still increasing round count of my RIA?

why would they be any different? they will show wear from use...They are meant to be used.. not just swaddled with a cloth diaper. I own Browns, Nighthawks, Wilsons and a host of others, they get treated just like my glocks. Not that I am chunking my guns into the air or into AR steel for click bait on youtube, etc. just that I clean em when I get around to it, I put em in kydex holsters and I use em in competitions.

Here is a 3k + pistol buried in the dirt just to see how well she would function afterward. (thumb safety was sticky but it didn't effect function.)
