After ETSing from the Army, finishing college, and looking for a job for a year, I got my first paycheck around the time the recent panic started, so I was unable to get an AR immediately as a new job present to myself.
Over the past few months I've been buying things as they come in stock or when I find them online.
I finally got my main and backup ARs almost complete. The black one is my main, the tan is the backup.
Both BCMs. Lightweight 14.5 inchers that are 16.2-ish with flash hiders. The black one is a BFH barrel and the other a standard I won cheap on Gunbroker.
The only things to be added are a short rail and white light on the black one and low-power, fixed magnification scope on the tan one. They're both going to remain without quad rails and other frills. I wanted some no-nonsense utilitarian rifles/carbines to beat around for the next days, years, and hopefully decades.
I got a heck of a deal on the Aimpoint M3 with LaRue mount, used from Armslist.
I have also managed to score random ammo from Armslist for not terrible prices, considering the market.
Also found 10 new 20 round mags for a reasonable amount. Also two D&H 30 rounders.
Both shoot perfectly, as I expected from Bravo Co.
I have just about pre-panic prices into the guns. I have a small sense of ... I don't know what, maybe pride ... for not caving in and buying something for $2000 that I would've had to spend more to modify anyway.
