My R9S arrived on Monday evening(5/24?04). My FFL is also where I shoot on Monday evening. Reading other posts about "limp wristing" I decided to do a test. I selected 15 shooters of various abilities ranging from novice to master class shooter. Each shooter was given five rounds of PMC 115gr hardball and asked if they would like to try my new pistol out, all were eager takers. "Only One" novice had a FTF on his second round, when I mentioned he needed to shoot from a "locked wrist." All his other rounds fired OK. Groups for the group, went from playing card size to under two inches at a man sized target at five yards. I had to keep saying, "Yes its a 9mm, quite drooling." As for myself, I fired 25rds of 115gr PMC using both hands, then the remaining 25rds alternating between stong hand only and weak hand only. Maybe after years of shooting P7's I automaticlly lock my wrist, however 14 other shooters also had no problems. As a final test, I broke out a box of Federal 115gr HP, Classic 9BP. Shooting 10 rounds weak hand only, then ten rounds strong hand only, function was outstanding and my worst weak hand group could be covered with a playing card and my best srong hand group had four out of five holes touching. As far as quality, I've seen it before, but those firearms were labeled Sig 210, West German P7, or Ed Brown Kobra. If you can handle a KelTec 3-AT, you'll love the R9S.

I ordered my pistol the 16th of Jan. 2004. I talked to Karl Rohrbaugh the day after receiving my pistol. He was happy to hear a "positive" phone call because he had just gotten off the phone with someone who was having extractor problems. The customer admitted using "surplus" WWII era ammo with some steel cases thrown in. We both agree that you don't buy an exotic sports car and feed it the cheepest grade of gas. Using "quality" 115gr ball target ammo for practice and 115gr Federal 9BP or the latest generation WW Silvertips will serve the gun and the shooter well and fall within the design function of the firearm. From ordering "now" expect about a four month wait, however that will "increase" when the next issue of American Handgunner comes out with the R9 on the cover and the lead story. Order now, you won't be sorry.:)

I'd like all my guns to function with anything I can scrounge should TSHTF!

In something super small and concealable I'm will to compromise as long as it works with a few major brands of premium SD ammo.

I'll never order a gun sight unseen. Maybe some day when enough Rohrbaughs get out there and I've a chance to actually hold one.....

Wally, I agree...that's why I bought a Ruger P-95 :)

thanks for the report Texas Bob...I've been checking out this weapon on the internet for the last couple months...nice gun...a little pricy :)

Take it easy ...

Bob .. rare for me to miss threads but until seeing the link on The Rohrbaugh forum . I'd missed it!

Good read ....... and a very good way to test too. Results seem about what I would hope for and expect. Great!

I received my Rohrbaugh yesterday. It's everything that I expected. Fit and finish are superb. I can't wait to shoot it.

:) I've seen the price anywhere from 875 to 975 depending on what your dealer charges you "and" the sales tax rate in your area. The R9 is "now" on the cover of American Handgunner. People with subscriptions already know this, should be at newstands within the next week.

Buy Guns ... here is mine .... and note too in my sig re Rorhbaugh Forum URL ... go look there too for more info.

Wild Alaska-How much???

Hey, do you know what you will be charging? Or is it too soon to ask that question?

Thanks.

It looks to me as if custom grip panels could be made for this gun. It would seem to lend itself to some personalization...Ivory...engraving...etc! ;)

I just read the American handgunner test of the Rohrbaugh, excellent looking little pistol, however for me the price is just too high, it compares
in many ways to a Kahr pm9 which cost approx. $500+ and in that +p
is usable. I believe the Rohrbaugh is in early stages of start up and
once set up prices will drop. But for those who can afford it I say go.
:D
