Picked this up from Davidsons to be used as a fun gun. I have several revolvers in .357, so I thought, what the heck, why not. It shoots like a dream. A little punch from .357, 38 special shoots like a 22. No problem chambering either .357 or 38. I was shooting on an indoor range, so I couldn't see how it handles long range, but I imagine it's good out to about 150 yards or so. Iron sights are a little hard on my 52yo eyes, so I will probably put a 1-4 x 20 on it. Ruger supplies the rings for the built in base, so that saves a few bucks. I'm very happy with the limited time I spent with it. I have no unrealitic expectations from this gun, there wont be any expensive free float stocks added, no trigger upgrades, etc. It is what it is, a fun little carbine, that's all I want.
