As you can see I think I have the start of a pretty nice little collection of Russian firearms. I'm on a limited budget so the more expensive models will have to wait. For now I have the following:

1. 1942 Mosin Nagant 91/30
2. 1943 Mosin Nagant M44
3. 1944 Nagant Revolver
4. Rearsenal Russian SKS (black bolt)
5. New Saiga converted Ak47.

If I include Eastern Bloc countries in general I also have a Bulgarian Makarov, a CZ52, and a Yugo SKS.

My future plans are for (in this order)

Russian Makarov
Russian Tokarev pistol
SVT-40
and finally a Mosin 91/30 sniper. I think that should round up a pretty good collection. I would be interested in other collections you guys might have. Not just Russian but have any of you collected from one country?

Here is the pic..........

very nice family, I think I'm gonna get a redheaded stepchild for my SKS either a Norinco or Romy to go with my '42 dated 91/20 and my '44 dated M44

I like it. It'd be nice to see PPSH-41 in there (if you could get a real one).

I would love one, sadly I doubt my budget will allow it. My other Russians are really nice and also CHEAP! Hopefully, the family will grow with time though.

It actually doesn't have one. The company that built it put a weld across the trunion then ground it to a smooth ramp. Its an odd setup but it works great. I just put the first 170 rounds through it yesterday with 9 different magazines and it worked great.

Nice bunch of guns.

I find that my friends, especially the ones that dont hunt or shoot regularly, really get a hoot out of shooting my AK and SKS. I guess its the novelty of shooting something unfamiliar.

Now you need to get one of the Moisin-Nagant rifles made at the beginning of WWI in the U.S. by either the Remington Arms Co. or by the New England Westinghouse Co.

There is a good article on the rifle in the NRA's July 2008 American Rifleman magazine.

The next one I want to get will most likely be a Makarov. Its the least expensive of the group and I will most likely find the best deal on it. I"ll probably have to sell one of the kids to get one of the other weapons.
