My small 9mm search is over

I am in the middle of selling my Kel tec p3AT and moving to a 9mm as well. I have looked at the Kel tec pf9 and the Taurus as small carry weapons. I have a Glock 30 and 27, but I was looking for something a little thinner and smaller. I have read threads in here on pros and cons of nearly every gun made. I am just struggling to decide. Around here the Kel tec goes for around $299 and the Taurus Millenium Pro for around $339.00 I believe. If I go with the Taurus do I go larger than 9mm or is the PF9 great for throwing in your front pocket and forgetting you have it unless you need it. I was wanting to spend around $400 because that is about what I can skim from my paychecks without my wife knowing.

Great choice - I've had mine for 2 years and love it. I do find myself carrying my Keltec P-3AT more often because I'm usually in shorts and t-shirts in Florida and am not real fond of IWB holsters - it's so easy to drop the Keltec in my pocket - but my PT-111 Mil Pro has been a trooper since I got it - never a failure, and accurate.

I had no problems with mine it shot great and no malfunctions.I just never got used to the trigger.

I also had been looking for a small 9mm for CCW, and I went with the Mil Pro for pretty much all the same reasons. The one thing I like is the trigger pull which I believe is based on the newer 24/7 type, in that it is a SA/DA set up. This is a big improvement over the older DAO triggers found on the earlier models.

There's also the Colt Pocket Nine ...

... Roughly the same size as the PPK but in 9mm and +P rated.

Update

To give an update, I bough tmy Taurus PT111 Mill Pro with a stainless slide in September. As of this weekend I have approx 600 rounds through it and it has been 100% flawless. No FTF, FTE or issues of any kind. I contacted my favorite holster maker, www.southernholsters.com and ordered an IWB holster and it's the perfect daily carry combo.

The Taurus is a good gun. I went Kel Tec P11 years ago and have never regretted that decision. Whatever suits you. I really don't see why one would carry a large .380 when there are so many good compact 9s available now days. Some like the .380, though, I guess lower recoil and such. It's minimal, but it'll serve in the self defense roll. Main thing is that you can shoot the gun well. I'm quite practiced with my Kel Tec, fired 100 rounds every couple of weeks out of that thing for some years just because I enjoy shooting and carrying it. Round count on it is up over 10K I reckon and it's still going strong, never had a problem with it. If I do, Kel Tec has some of the best customer service in the industry and a lifetime warranty.

Anyway, these little 9s are pretty tough to beat for CCW. I still love my revolvers, but the little nine gets a lot of carry and the DAO format matches my revolvers as far as practice goes. One of my most favorite carry revolvers is a Taurus, a little M85UL .38. Taurus builds some good firearms and a decent price, despite the bashers that might get on this thread. I own three revolvers and they're great shootin' guns. I've yet to get a Taurus auto, but they make some I like.
