Excellent work on those grips. They really set the shiny guns off. Question? How well can you see the sights on those out in bright sunlight?

If anyone is looking for the grip screws I got my last batch from Dixie Gun Works.

Your question is a good one, and unfortunately or not (depends how much you like to read my ramblings..lol) the answer may not be just a quick one unless I just leave it as;

Answer: I am not sure, but I'd imagine difficult to see in bright sunlight.

Answer reasoning for fun, but honestly:
1.) I haven't had these guns more than a couple months, and have been working on/playing with them only, not having actually shot them or aimed them in the outdoor sun.
2.) Other than these last few days, the weather where I live in MN is cloudy (rainy) and dreary 5 of 7 days a week, and the the remaining 2 usually partly cloudy anyway.
3.) I have a difficult time (now with older eyes) with any smaller/rudimentary sight pictures like this even black/blue so I've learned to use no sights (7-10 years speaking) or more appropriately the (fuzzy) sight picture combined with point shooting much of the time. Out to 25 yards I can really squint to see the sight picture, but it's tedious at best.

That was probably more info than you were looking for... ;)

[That is a nice looking rig bannockburn!/QUOTE]

Thank you sir! At the time I was looking for a holster and belt for my guns I found a lot of rigs that were very nice but also very pricey. Didn't want to spend all that much for them so when I found DeSantis I felt they were the best buy for my money.

UBERTI-BIRDSHEAD-SAA-MAGNA-TUSK-AGED-IVORY-GRIPS-_1.jpg Just a bit of info I heard from the owner of a LGS..there are "Bird's Head" revolvers, like the gun on the left then 'Bird's Head" like on the right, with the bump. The 'Thunderer' grip is really the name of the RH revolver, created by the owner of Cimarron guns in 1990. Mike 'Texas Jack' harvey..

I own a Beretta/Uberti 'Thunderer' in 357/38spec..LOVE that gun..Didn't like the 'feel' of a more traditional 'Bird's Head' Uberti..

Thank you!

The reason I asked was that I play with a couple of the CO2 BB gun replicas that are nickle plated. Down here where the sun shines brightly most days all you can see is a big bright spot unless you are in the shade and it's impossible to see any part of the top of the gun. Even in the shade there is enough reflection to be troublesome. My solution was to mask off everything but the top strap and right on down the barrel to the muzzle and give each gun a coat of rust reformer primer which is flat black. No more glare and if I want to remove it a little lacquer thinner will do so quickly and easily. They look a little funny with that black stripe on top but it sure makes a difference in aiming them.

A truly beautiful hideout gun and holster.
You did a great job on those grips.

But be careful of that white kirinite stuff. It kills all plant life!

I have seen Doc’s sawed off 10ga under table gun with shoulder rig for sale in the Gun Report, with documents, a two page ad. “Qualified Bidders only please.”

I also saw Walker’s own Colt pistol, as mint, a six page color ad. That gun was shipped by not delivered to Walker, as he was KIA by the time of delivery. Another “Qualified Bidders only ad.”

Doc’s stuff is around, it is that proof paperwork that causes the cash register to ring.

Nice replica job by the way.

As I recall, this was a 10 gauge Meteor double with a rigid steel sling ring fitted into the top between the barrels. The balance point was such that when his long coat was thrown open the balance point caused the barrels to swing up into firing position.
