It's true, the nachos at Walmart thing is a rite of passage. I haven't seen that map in a long time, still makes me chuckle. ...and yes, I really bought nachos at Walmart my first day carrying. Enjoy!

Yes I have proper Holstering IWB Holster,I have done My Homework,Thanks for All The Support My Friends, I Copied My map of Wally World but I'm pretty sure they will be out of Ammo,What If I see those crazy people dressed funny, do I look at Them?...lol,Thanks again Everyone...

Your life most definately has changed AA. You are now carrying a far greater amount of responsibility. Always keep that in mind.
Keep on trusting in Him.
Oh, and stay away from that monkey lol

I remember the first trip out of the house with a CCW. I was sure everyone who saw me knew I was carrying and treated me differently because of it.

I got over it pretty quickly.

But I've never completed the Walmart ritual; does that mean I still have to?

Having a CCW permit and a gun doesn't make you any safer, it just means you have a fighting chance to turn a very unlikely terrible situation into one that is merely really, really bad.

OR, one where we can potentially protect ourselves and others from suffering "merely really bad" harm. OR, one where we can potentially "merely really" limit harm done. No?

That Wal-Mart poster made me chuckle. Milk and eggs... right.

Congrats AA! I'm not yet 21 but have carried when legal since I turned 18 (open carry sans motor vehicle, and in conjunction with a sportsman's firearms permit and related outdoor activities). I was in a rather sobering situation about a week ago in a local Wal-Mart that made me realize how relieved I'll be to have my LTCF in another month when I turn 21. I also pray that I'll never have to draw it, let alone fire it, in self defense.

Your world has definitely not changed, it's just the same as it always was.

Kudos to you for taking accountability for your own safety.

This.

I've recently discovered how much easier it is to carry a firearm in conjunction with a decent holster, good to hear you have one! What rig did you decide to go with? The .38 is a favorite in my family, you should have no problem carrying it comfortably every day! Just remember; the only way you'll be able to ensure that you'll have it when you need it is to have it all the time.

Go walk around Walmart, make a post about it and everything will be back to normal.

Yeah....like we need another Wal-Mart thread.:banghead:

^^^This. Remember, the firearm is still your last resort. If you continue to rely on your awareness of your surroundings and the situations, and keep yourself outta harms way instead of in front of it, the odds that you will ever have to use it are pretty slim.

Heh, I've heard of the Walmart Rite but not the "nacho's" deal etc. so had to look it up. funny.. doh!, just saw that it was posted on the first page.

I've been carrying concealed legally for about 25 years.

Don't guess you were a drama major, were you?

Drama

Its Not Drama,Its reality ,I just realize the Implications and respondsibility Involved ,much like When I'm respondsible for 40-60 Other peoples children everyday, You will too when You get Older and Wiser...Maybe...

"When I get older", eh? Now, that right there is too funny, junior. (And try not to act too quite so high-and-mighty until you brush up on your spelling and grammar.)

I must say that in 1975-6 when I started carrying in NYC, it didn't really sink in for a long time. I just put my DS on in a OWB pancake holster and that was it. I never went 1 day without one since.
I used to take my gun to the beach, the pool, everyware I went It went. Since both my bosses carried and were more than happy when I got mine, I never experienced any problem except later, 25 or so years when I sold the buisness, "i had bought", and found that I would be without my gun in a few months.
I knew the fellow who I sold the business to so we left it in my name until I moved to FL. I couldn't give up the right I had for all that time , just because NYC says once you no longer own the business you need to surrender your carry. I saw and knew too much by then to ever live my life unarmed in that city.

I have a CPL, but I still know enough to shy away from areas where I know carrying is a necessity rather than an option.
Unfortunately, as recent events have shown, there are no places that are safe from violence. Homes, offices, schools, stores, malls, wilderness trails, GUN FREE ZONES, hospitals, nursing homes, eateries, churches....you name it.

We do not control where violence will occur. We can control how prepared we will be to deal with it if it comes our way.

I'll just Pass on a response.I can't brush up though, I have Dyslexia..but to those who understand My sentiments on a heartfelt Thought about a accomplishment, Thank You...

If that's the case, then, my apologies, my friend. On face value, though, you must admit that your initial post (heartfelt and sincere though it apparently was) did sound a bit over the top. (And you would understand my response to your second post if you knew my age. ;) )

Best wishes.

But 1975 was before Mayor Bloomberg "got things straightened out". :)
