I posted a thread about finding the best pocket gun for primary carry a few days ago. Interestingly enough no one really supported my interest in the NAA 380. However, today I stumbled on a deal that I thought was too good to pass up.

I found a new in box North American Arms 380 and the gun was $300 out the door including tax and include a 50 round box of American Eagle Ball and a 20 Round Box of Hornady Critical Defense. I pick it up tomorrow and with any luck it will be reliable. I checked out the NAA website and I am pretty impressed by the number of aftermarket accessories they have for these guns - grips, holsters, etc.

I'm interested in hearing thoughts on the gun from anyone who has one. Intended purpose for me is to have a 'pocket' gun for times when I can't carry a more full sized weapon. (FYI I tried the Ruger LCP and I couldn't get used to the really long trigger pull...just my two cents.)

Congrats. I recently purchased a 380 for everyday carry and love it. I have some buffalo bore ammo ordered. 1100 fps they claim. I will chrono it. Not much to give up over my 9mm pocket pistols and Lots smaller. Good luck with new gun.

I don't know if.......

............the same will apply to your .380, but the trigger might be be pretty tough in the beginning. I had one of their .32s and the trigger was horrendous until I had about 400 rounds down the pipe. And mine was used, though I don't think the original owner shot it much. Snappy little bugger. Well made but just couldn't cotton up to it.

I've fired a few of the NAA guns, never bought one, but was pretty happy with the range rentals I've tried. To me they always seemed a little fat and a little heavy, ended up buying a Kel-Tec P32 instead. But, they were always reliable and fairly accurate, easy to shoot. And as range rentals, were probably poorly maintained too. I've only heard good things about the NAA stuff. Good luck with your little gun.
Also, am I mistaken or did Kahr make some frames for NAA a while ago?

I have one in .32 and other than not being happy with the trigger weight and roughness it's a well made and relible pistol. My KT P32 is more accurate and easier to shoot though so it gets carried more, but the NAA looks much better.

Had one, got rid of it as soon as I could.
Smooth but heavy trigger.
Blowback action will not be pleasant to shoot.
Quality is high, but heavy enough to serve as a good boat anchor.
NAA considers the heavy trigger pull to be a safety feature.

Yes they did.
