NAA Black Widow cylinder stuck??

i have both the Naa 22 mag mini revolver and black widow. each uses a different cylinder release. the mini uses a little ball to hold the rod in place. the widow uses a little cylinder to hold.

i can never get the cylinder out without playing with it for minutes. is this a defect? should i dremel it or send it somewhere?

Original BWs had the ball release but they had a lot of trouble with the pin popping out when firing. The mini mag does not have this problem. The later BWs were redesigned and have the twist and turn release.
