NAA .32 Guardian
I have spent years with many different mouseguns. I like to carry polymer, but always find myself drawn back to steel. After ridding myself of all KTs and my LCP, I was on the hunt. Tried a Couple Bersas, but they just were not small enough. Then one night, I stopped by a tiny shop just for fun. I saw the usual cheap polymer guns, but then something tiny in SS caught my eye. It was a .32 Guardian, which reminded me a lot of the hard to find Seecamp. I had used several of their mini revos in the past, but never felt comfortable with the SA cowboy style. But I knew they worked. After some fondling and haggling, I decided to give it a go.
I bought some of the heaviest loads I could find (buffalo Bore 75 grain LFPs) and proceeded to the range, where I had several FTF, and one stovepipe. I thought, being a tightly fitted all steel gun, it might need a break in and lube. Took it home and stripped it (which was a breeze). Went back to the range. This time, one mag worked and one still did not. Frustrated I called NAA, and they promised to send me a new mag in exchange.
But then I read an article about the Seecamp that stated to use either Winchester Silvertips or WWB Winchester Q4255 71 gr. FMJ JFPs. So after a thorough cleaning, oiling and some dry cycling I went to the store and picked up some Winchester JFPs, figuring I would rather have the penetration of the JFPs than the expansion of the STs. So I went back home and loaded both mags wondering if I made a mistake buying the little NAA? Is this going to be another horror story like my Taurus .22s, I wondered.
There was only one way to find out. I hand cycled one whole box through without a single hitch. To the range again. This time the little gun ran flawlessly with either mag. another Taurus type experience? NOPE! The little gun shoots straight, works perfectly fits in a pocket with ease, and is a pussycat to shoot (unlike the lighter polymer guns). With a few extra rounds and a thorough cleaning, I am totally stoked about this little mouse that roars. Though ammo selection turned out to be an important factor, it is not an issue for me. Some guns like certain ammo, and the little NAA not only looks like the Seecamp, but appears to have the same ammo preference. Next time we will try the silvertips. In the meantime I have a wonderful little pocket pistol that shoots as good as it looks.
So if any of you are tired of the polymer wonders and want a small gun you can carry and shoot comfortably, look no further than the NAA Guardian. You will be glad you did.
