This shouldn't be threatening or intimidating. It might be entirely effective to put your rifle in a case, unloaded, and sling it over your shoulder while shopping, walking the dog, washing the truck.
I don't park my truck in places where I can't keep an eye on it. Maybe the traditional gun rack in the back window?
The idea here is to demonstrate to the nation that there are patriotic Americans here, and we're vocal, visible, politically engaged. We're not going to stand idly by and watch our Constitutional Civil Liberties be watered down by reactionary hysterics.
Just tossing this out as an idea. It needs some refinement and coordination. I think both are entirely possible.
