Did a search, didn't come up with anything.

Has anyone bought one of these monstrosities?

They're supposed to come in in a week. I'm tempted to throw away money on one, just to have it. Cheaper than a Beta C at least. I bet it'd get a lot of laughs at the range, even if it doesn't work good.

It'd be nice to know if the one review on there is an isolated incident, though.

holy god is that ugly. the only thing i can predict is 'jam-jam-doublejam', but i could be wrong. seems to be way too much room for error with the spring not being able to carry through

Yes, it will be junk. Buy 30s or a Beta-C. Or send me the hundred bucks, and I'll send you a mag that doesn't work. :)

Is this an attempt to try to make an AR look like an AK?

Maybe to make it look like an AK with one of these.

Made by the same company, apparently.

According to my estimates, the 100 round AR-15 mag would be about 25" long, since 20 round ones are 5" and 30 rounders are 7.5".

In comparison, a 30 rd AK mag is 8"-9", and a 40 rd RPK mag is 10"-11".

Wheeeww. I can't find any pictures of one of those ridiculous things in a gun, so I think I'm going to try and photoshop one.

If it were about half that price, I'd have to get one just for the humor factor.

FYI Midway isn't restocking National Magazine pistol mags due in part no doubt to horrendous reviews. The two BHP magazines I bought were by far the worst and in fact ONLY magazines my FEG clone doesn't like. Painted on finsh so thick it doesn't fit the magazine well, followers hang up etc.

It's your money, but I'd pass.

Smart money is betting it'll be junk. National makes Pro-Mag look like top shelf, at least I've a few Pro-Mags that work.

No doubt the capacity of that magazine is 100 rounds, but how did they engineer the spring tension such that it would feed reliably from round one to round 100? It must be quite a feat of engineering or a not-so-clever way to engineer the consumer out of their money.

You might be able to do it with a dual spring, outer springs is stretched while inner spring is compressed. You'd need a wider mag body outside the well though. Highly doubt that thing would work, have you checked for one used on ebay or similar?

Its just for show purposes, just like their 75 & 100 round ak mags.

They used to have ALOT of negative reviews, people saying they couldn't even load close to the amont stated, and of course didnt feed right. Those reviews are gone now for some reason, probably hurt sales.

Even the best 100 round drums, the Beta-C mags, have a reputation of being finicky. That thing just looks like a piece of utterly functionless junk. Even if those things worked, they'd be nearly useless for anything. After all, how would you go prone with such a monstrosity hanging from the bottom of your rifle? How would you shoot around barriers? How would it impact maneuvering in cramped quarters? How would you actually sling the rifle for carrying?

If you want magazines that hold more than 30 rounds, consider getting a couple of the Tripp Research 42 or 52 round Cobra Mags. They've got a ridiculous amount of capacity and are only slightly more unwieldy than an average 30-rounder.

"...supposed to come in in a week..." You didn't notice the "Out of Stock. No backorder'?

Right below that, it says "Date Expected In-Stock: 5/10/2009"

May is the 5th month, right? I get confused on those sometimes. :p And if it looks like nothing is coming in, Midway has a habit of pushing back their expected date a month at a time. Went through that waiting since October for DPMS steel charging handles. Date Expected In-Stock: 11/15/08, 12/15/08, 1/15/09, 2/15/09, 3/15/09, etc.

Anyway, I realize 100% that those are going to be junk, I was just wondering if they'd function at all. At this point, $90 is far too much to waste on something that's bought just for the humor value. It would look hilarious.

For serious use, I just use Pmags and nothing but. Second choice, Okay Industries / NHM...TIG?
