I am selling a gun to someone out of state and I've sent the gun to that person's FFL. Now his FFL is telling him that he needs my SSN to complete the transfer. I've never heard of anything like this. Is this correct?
The question isn't about a 4473, but rather why the FFL is asking for the SSN. Honestly, I'm entirely clueless about the whole matter. If the original poster could clear this up for us (which I assume he's cleared up for himself with the "nevermind" post) I'd be very interested.
To get something FROM the FFL certainly doesn't require an SSN. Why an FFL has to (or would) ask for an SSN when RECEIVING the arm is a complete mystery to me. I guess I could ask a pawn shop dealer about the whole matter, but THR is so much easier and the question is already setup
well, it wasn't that it was cleared up so much as I finally spoke to him on the phone and he threatened to have the ATF throw me in jail for not giving him my SSN
