Need Better Solution For Zipper Strings Please

Hi All-

My range bag came with knotted strings to pull the zippers olen, and they've come untied way too many times. I've tried different types of knots, but they fail too. Does anyone have a better solution than string?

I've used Paracord without any issues.
Seal the end with a lighter.
Drop of CA on the knots

In a pinch, a zip tie can suffice, an you can select many colors and lengths to need (and, it's sore difficult to have too many zip ties).

When I was a kid I kept a key ring on my jacket zipper. Not to pull it up and down but I could loop it over the metal stud on my Ruger‘s pistol mag and pull it down to load. Had tender thumbs back then…

Yeah they just kept breaking, this pack has fairly heavy zippers.

Having grown up with both Knight's Modern Seamanship and the Bluejacket's Manual in the house, I do, if stranded line is available, have an affinity for a Double Wall Knot as a way to create pulls.


Alternately a Wall and Crown Knot will suffice, too.


The paracord "snake knot" is the wall not of the paracord world

Paracord zipper pull is my answer. Usually I use the two strand diamond knot.

How about zipper pull instead of string?
