Saint and Det, it is common for Polmach and even today in Zahal to train women as instructors in a many positions that we in the West would find remarkable, including sniping, small unit tactics, hth. IDF is usually more practical and not as hung up as we might be--if a woman is teaching, it frees a man to fight.

IIRC, Dr. Ruth showed great promise as a shooter (natural superior vision and eye/hand coorindation) and was going to be assigned as an instructor when she was wounded.
