I'm in need of holsters for my handguns.

All must be left-handed.

I need a working/concealment type right for my Government Model, and possibly my CZ-97B. The holster for the Colt must be able to support an ambi safety.

I need a similar rig for my S&W 625. I can hear some people now moaning and groaning about carrying a 5" N-Frame, but that can't be helped.

I will be in need of an outdoor, open carry field holster for these weapons as well. NO FLAP HOLSTERS. Leather or synthetics are options. The field models must be thumbreak (or have another retention system). They ought to have a closed muzzle, though this isn't a selling point, and must cover the trigger guard (a lot of quality sixgun leather leaves the trigger guard exposed, a poor idea on a double action gun).

Prefer items I can order online. Thanks for your help, folks!

Here is one of my favorites:

http://www.donhume.com/

You can search online for what you want by gun model, or you can either download their catalog or request one via snail mail.

I don't know if they have just what you are looking for. I have been well pleased with all Don Hume holsters I've purchased.

A friction-only retention system on a field holster is, I believe, a bad idea. Such a holster may be used for hunting, hiking, or any manner of outdoor activity. You may have to run and not be able to put your hand over the holster.

For a CCW holster, an open top design is fine.

Honestly, I wish Sidearmor made left-handed holsters. This model is about perfect for me. :banghead:

Nightcrawler,

For your 1911 and CZ I can highly recommend our own Eric Larsen (HBE Leatherworks). I have one of his COM 2 IWB holsters for my 1911. I reviewed it here.

Eric is "the man" when it comes to leather for CZ's. Take a look. I think you'll be very satisfied and the price is excellent for a handmade holster.

For good revolver leather, El passo saddlery is hard to beat for style, price and selection.

I'm often trolling eBay for left hand holsters. Just do a search for "holster left" and see what gets listed. Once in awhile there is a good find.

That said, my favorites are from Comp-Tac.com.

Thanks for the extensive list, Rubzerk!

Does anyone have experience with the Mitch Rosen holsters? I'm looking closely at one of the ARG models, but I'm wondering if they are worth the price tag.

LG

Your welcome.

I dont know. I just have some fobia about getting a holster without a thumb break fearing my pistol will somehow kiss the ground.

I picked up a really basic IWB holster at my local Gun Shop for $12 made by MIL-TECH

Well guys.....thanks for the recommendation.
Don Hume makes some good stuff, very very inexpensive and will do most people a decent job. They are very tight and break in slowly.
Look at some quality leather, youre carrying some weight with both guns and will need a good holster/belt combo.
Get good stuff no matter who makes it for you......
Shoot well.

If you like the synthetics, then you should give Comp-Tac a call. If you need the concealment, I just got a C-tac for my gov't model and it works great. They also have belt and paddle holsters that should work quite well for your needs. Glance through their website.

Hbe

Ditto HBE for concealment and comfort. Great stuff, and I've tried a bunch of the others without finding his equal.

For the long revolver and IWB, the very high ride CABO leather (Carry A Big One) works best.

IWB? Gotta give the "NOD" to HBELEATHERWORKS.COM

Field rig? El PASO SADDLERY

I am Dave (who is also left handed) but I havent made a lefty holster in MONTHS! :what:
