I have a CZ 75 P-01. I am wanting something smaller for warm weather carry. I don't want to spend more that $300. That is the absolute max. This will not be a primary carry piece. It will serve mostly as a back-up, or warm weather. I don't really like the idea of anything smaller than a 9mm luger or .38 special but I am willing to give anything a try. Give me some suggestions.

Uhhh.....wouldn't by the time summer arrives it becomes the primary?

Getcha two Makarovs, concealable, reliable and cheap to own and shoot. Put one up to keep nice, wear the other one out.

I believe I can generally conceal my CZ 75 P-01 during the summer as I usually where either large t-shirts or shot sleeved button up shirts. This will be a gun that I can carry on the days that I don't have either of these available from being too dirty.:D I guess it may become a primary carry piece. I don't know for sure since I am so new to CCW.

Gotta get a Mak or two if you don't have one yet. I carry mine just as much as my P-01. Reliable, accurate, plus a great piece of history.
Too bad the RAMI is out of your listed price limit.

CCW

I usually go with a 5" 1911 IWB strong side.. on the back side of the right hip. Those guns are so flat they conceal easy. But, failing that, if you can't deal with a .38 special snubnose, I'd definately go with a Makarov. The Russian/East German ones are the ones to look for, if I remember right. If not, I'm sure I'll be corrected promptly :)

Check out Kel-Tec. I got the chrome slide because I've heard that they stand up best against sweat. I'm still gettin' used to mine and I haven't had much exposure to warm weather here in the Catskills during March; but it sure carries comfortable and the eleven 9mms. in the P-11 are mighty comforting.

This would also indicate there's pleanty of time to save a little more cash for the next level of quality, etc.
There's few $300(new) guns I'd trust as a defensive arm. They either lack quality or the round is simply too enimic. Now they make 9mm and .40's that are similar in size to .32 and .380s. Of course, they usually cost more.

Buy quality first.
Life is priceless.

Sometimes, one can find a good used Smith
& Wesson 2" barrel .38 Special for less than
$300; but you have to search far and wide
to do so! :uhoh: I offer as an example, my
old model .38 caliber S&W model 60 "Chiefs
Special"; price OTD was $249.95. :D

And just last year, a friend of mine found a
used, round butt Smith & Wesson model 12
for $225.

Some suggestions:

Taurus PT-111
Taurus PT-140
Makarov
Kel-Tec 9mm
A New Taurus 357 Revolver
A good Smith and Wesson Revolver

Well I have made my decision. Unfortunately its not in my price range so it will take a month or two to obtain. I have decided to go with the CZ Rami. Its not my fault. Its that danged CZforum. Everyone over there is always saying," get a CZ, get a CZ." Well dangit. I can't afford it right now but I will end up getting it. :banghead: :banghead: Why, why do these stupid boards have to do this to me.:D

I may get a Mak in the mean time and then sell it when i get more funds. I just know I won't be happy unless I get the Rami. Looks like more sleepless nights daydreaming about the the Rami.

clipse why sell a makarov? you won't get much for it. better to keep in your arsenal. good guns.

Nevermind. My grandmother just informed me that she wanted to buy me a new pistol. Last time she paid for 1/2 of my P-01. Now she said she would buy the whole thing. WOW!!! I love my grandma. May the Rami will come sooner than later.

Well, my grandmother offered to buy me a pistol so I went with this. They didn't have the RAMI in and I couldn't wait. :D
