I'm trying to duplicate Hornady TAP FPD rounds that use the 124gr XTP bullet. Does anyone have data for this bullet loaded with Universal? Also, if you have the OAL from a factory round, that'd be great, otherwise manual OAL is fine too.

I'm trying to make sure the XTPs will feed reliably in my G26 and a few hundred rounds of factory ammo is way too pricey. Thanks!

That is an excellent bullet and feeds very well. You might try the Remington 124 Gr. Golden Saber as well. It's another excellent bullet which feeds very well.

Walkalong, I considered Golden Sabers, Gold Dots, and Silvertips. I got the XTPs because Hornady is a local manufacturer, they have a good reputation (as good as the others), and (probably most important) they're relatively inexpensive as bullets and as cartridges compared to the others.

Hsmith, I've been there. I was hoping someone has some data specifically for the 124gr XTP. That site lists the 147gr, not the 124. Even looking at 115gr data for LRN and GDHP, the loads differ quite a bit. (At least more than I'm comfortable with.)

Thanks for the responses!

Anyone have a Hornady manual they can check?

and (probably most important) they're relatively inexpensive as bullets and as cartridges compared to the others.

You can get a bulk rate on Golden Sabers, but not on the XTP as far as I have seen. You can't go wrong with the XTP, a great bullet. I just wanted to suggest another good alternative.

Gotta love bulk... I just picked up 4000 115gr Winchester FMJs. So that's 4000 * 115gr = 460,000 gr. 7,000 grains in a pound = 65.71 pounds. Gotta love Midway's bulk deals.

And I actually keep Golden Sabers in my nightstand gun.

Hodgdon lists 125 grain data with universal. I would use that starting data and work up as needed.

Those glocks eat most anything, though!:)
