Have put in for a draw to hunt a particular area which this year has banned lead ammo. Am looking for a source to buy (online) 7mm-08 and 30'06. BTW, I'm in CA, if that makes a differnce. Anybody have a source?

Thanks in advance.

I shoot a .300 and found this for my non lead ammo use in CA

Federal Premium offers the 165 and 180 grain ammo with the TSX bullet, and the 180gr with the new MRX bullets.

Norma and Sellier & Bellot also sell loaded rounds for the 300 winmag.

"Did you guys get your tags already?"

No, put in for a draw at Ft Hunter Leggit, Camp Roberts.

Ugh.

Got mine in the mail yesterday.

No San Diego antlerless tag (all the deer we SAW here last year were antlerless). No M6 December muzzleloader tag.

But I got a D15/13/11, my third choice. Whoopee!

(Watch, that's where I'll get a deer and I'll eat my words. Of course, that's the kind of crow I don't mind eating.)

You should find out soon. Probably today.

i love it these army bases are now concerned about lead and its such a PITA to get on there to hunt, but for 60+ years they have been shooting and training and spilling gas and diesel everywhere...
we took a drive thru hunter ligget about 2 months ago and went over naciemeinto ferguson rd to teh coast and saw much sign including a bunch of little piglets by a fenceline.. cute little buggers i wish i had been legal to take one nice and tender. im sure momma was near but didnt show herself.

sorry isnt the corbon DPX all copper ?

Lead Free Ammo? How in the heck are you going to humanely take a deer with a full metal round? Just something to think about. Go to Ammoman.com and see what they have. The only steel rounds I know of are the NATO ammunition in 5.56 and 7.62. Try that Corbon Hunter/DPX at cabelas.com as it is supposed to be solid copper. Good luck!
