I love my 1911, so I decide to get myself a Belgium Browning Hi-power. I found myself a BHP with Novak home defense package for $600. It is 98% and comes with 1 13 rounds mag, 3 10 rounds mags.

Is this a good deal? Should I jump on it right away?

New Hi Powers sell for $600 and up most places. If you found one with custom work done in 98% condition with a couple of extra mags, then jump on it!

What custom work does the "Novak Home Defense Package" include?

Novak is showing the home defense package as currently costing $495.

A used, very good condition High Power with a five hundred dollar custom smithing job for $600? Run, don't walk, to go get that one purchased. Even if you decide you utterly hate High Powers (which few do), you can still resell the thing for a couple hundred dollar profit.

Thanks for all of the inputs. I just closed the deal, now I just have to go meet the guy and give him the cash before he changes his mind.

I bought the gun. It is very nice, but it will take a while to get use to the trigger. I am really new to BHP and don't know too much about them.

The trigger just surprised me, it is smooth, but there is no reset, or I just don't feel it. Even my CQB has a trigger reset, very slight, but it is there. I really like the ergonomic of the gun and its grip. Can't wait to try her out at the range.

The reset is there. It is just very slight and longer than a 1911. With a little practice, you can get the hang of it; but the 1911 generally does have a nicer trigger as far as reset goes.
