I've got a replica .44 cal Remington NMA which I'd like to get another cylinder for, but can't ID the manufacturer. All the proofmarks are on the bottom of frame just forward of the trigger guard.

Does anybody have any idea what that mark at the far left is? I'm pretty sure that's the manufacturer's mark. It could be an "A" with an "M" in it,... Could this be Armi San Marco? The cylinder measures 2.006" long. I'd like to be able to figure who the manufacturer is so I can come close to having a decent fit with a replacement cyl.

Thanks in advance for any help ;)

Yep, asked the same question about one of my guns a few months back.

It's Armi San Marco.

The box with the AZ in it means it was proofed (and probably built) in 1990,
The other two are Italian proofs, the one in the middle is a standard mark, the one with the pn means it is proofed for "pulvera negro" (black powder).

so using the pattern of letters to date a revolver, a revolver marked with CC would have been made this year in 2008? And one marked BU in 2004?

No, check out the link on Sundances post.

2000 is BN.

They skipped a lot of letters for some reason, and not always the same ones. I don't know what they're using for 2008. Have to do a little research.

tkendrick ,.......thanks for the help. I had another pard on Voy forum confirm the same thing. Also you just cleared up what I've always wondered "PN" means....."pulvera negro".

sundance,..yup I got that link. I like that one because it also shows pictures of the manufacturers logo stamps.

Here's the official Beretta website with the proofmark dates....goes to 2007

Thanks again for your help, folks.:D
