Greetings; I am new to this forum & I need some answers. I recently won at a auction(internet) a very NICE repro Colt Walker. I believe it is an Armi San Marco..BUT..not marked as such. The only place where maker is marked is under the loading lever where it is stamped S MARCO..on side of Barrel near frame is marked "made in Italy". Frame/cyl./barrel assy. all have same serial number 84x along with profusely engraved cyl.& Pat. number same as the parts previously mentioned..I thought this VERY unique..! The ONLY proof mks. I can locate are the Gardone proofs and the PN w/ circled star. NO Roman numerials/Capital letters..nor combo's of such. I believe this to be a very early S Marco(??). I also believe this to be a forged frame as found on the early models. The rest of this fine revolver exhibit profuse engraving on the frame/cylinder/T'guard/backstrap. The cyl. has an inlaid(brass?) ring at the junction of nipple cuts and also same syle inlaid "rings"(2) at the muzzle. I can find NO reference to this particular revolver and hopfully someone has a catalog or can help me correctly date/ID this nice-unfired specimen...all emails to me will be appreciated & replied to... Muchas Gracias.

That sounds like a comemorative revolver probably for the Franklin Mint or others. There's an actual Walker original that has similiar inlay(gold) and engravings. There's a pic in the book Black powder Revolvers by Dennis Alder called the 1851 Cochise Dragoon. You might try Googling it.
