Nevada Gun Shows?

I'm looking for info from those who attend the Las Vegas and Reno Gun Shows in Nevada. Because of stupid CA laws, one of the things I can't do with my C&R license here is have handguns mailed directly to me. I'm really interested in acquiring a Sistema or Ballaster Molina (or 2 or 3) but just can't bring myself to go through a type 01 FFL for them as it kinda takes the fun out of the C&R license.

So for a purpose aimed mostly at C&R firearms (but of course checking out the other stuff too) which city and show promoter has the better show? I take at least one camping trip a year to the desert near Death Valley, and several fishing trips to the Eastern Sierra, so I'd just be hopping over to one show or the other while near either of the cities.

Note to moderators to keep this thread from being locked: This is not an illegal activity. CA residents with C&R licenses can purchase handguns in person out of state and bring them back to CA as long as we file paperwork. It's only illegal to have them mailed directly to us.

None of the shows in Nevada are all that great. I'd say your best bet is to try one of the BIG RENO SHOWS.

I never saw a Sistema at a gunshow, and Molinas were going for $300+

You may be better off paying your friendly local 01 FFL the transfer fee.

Thanks GK. I had heard a rumor that one or both of those two shows had a decent amount of C&Rs. Guess that's not necessarily the case.

Oh well, I think I'll check out the Reno show this Summer regardless, just to see what they have. From what I've read, it's 10 times the size of my local show, so there should be some interesting stuff to peruse.

I've been to a few of the "Big" Reno shows which are usually held at the Hilton. I've always had a good time at the shows and there is no comparison to the local Bay Area shows. BTW - here's a Sistema for sale in NorCal - Sistema
