I took GSG Firefly to the range for the first time in a while, so far not a spec of trouble with over 400 rounds of CCI 40 gr copper RN MiniMags. I was shooting Armscor 36gr copper HPs fresh stock recently purchased at my LGS. First round fired and was dead on at 20yrs forehead shot on a silhouette. Did not eject, 2nd round jammed. Dropped the mag, cleared it, and could not extract the spent case from the chamber. Actually had to push it out later at home with a cleaning rod which took a solid rap to get it out. Visually inspect the chamber area and nothing noted, casing I expected to see bulged or split looked fine, but no .22 ammo I have, Norma LRN, CCI MimiMags or the new Armscor can be chambered past the bullet head if had fed. Cleaning patches and brushes do clear the entire length of the barrel as normal. Any comments, ideas as to why? I'm shipping it this week to AMTAC in SC under warranty.

All clear, like I said nothing looks or feels out of place, no grime, burrs just will not accept a round.

I've used Armscor 22 Mag ammo in a semi-auto before without any issues, cant say I've tried their L.R. ammo. If it feeds fine with other stuff I'd forget the Armscor ammo.

Had something similar to this happen with my TacSol 2211 conversion assembly on an Essex frame I had built. First round fired but would not eject. Slide was locked up tight; couldn't get it to budge. Finally placed the muzzle up against a wood block and pushed on it hard till I got the slide to move back. The fired case was intact except for one tiny fragment of the rim which had broken off and become wedged inside there. Had to remove that fragment in order for the gun to chamber a fresh round.

Is the bolt being stopped. I mean to say will a round chamber if you remove the barrel? As in a plunk test? I'm not familiar with the specific platform so just a guess.

Is there a case still in the chamber without a head attached? It's happened before!
That would essentially sleeve the chamber so only the bullet could enter but not the case. Yeah I know they are heeled bullets but it has happened.
I had that exact thing happen with my Mk II a couple years ago... I forgot the ammo brand off the top of my head. In the middle of a range trip the gun jammed and I couldn’t get it to load another round into the chamber. I finally saw a bit of brass inside the chamber by shining a light inside with the bolt locked open.

I was only able to get it out by putting a very, very tight-fitting patch down the barrel muzzle-first. It grabbed the headless case and popped it back out of the chamber.

Before you spend the time and energy to send it in confirm the chamber is clear. If it is clear, you’ll be smart to send it in.

Good luck finding out the issue!

Stay safe.

Slide works fine and did at the range with the casing jammed in the chamber but would not extract. At home i followed the steps I took in my original post to clear and clean the barrel. Being a fixed barrel design I could only field strip the pistol. New CCI and Norma copper and LRN will not fit past the projectile stopping as the case reaches the chamber. Going to ship it back sometime this week.

Please be sure to let us know what the outcome is with your .22. Hope it's a quick and easy fix to the problem!

Odds are you have a ring of brass in the chamber. A tight-fitting bore brush will work too - push (or pull) it fully into the chamber, then reverse direction.
