Well, I could not pass this up. I don't know if it was a good deal or not, but it is a sweet pistol. It was built by a gunsmith that works at Briley. It has a Caspian frame with nicely done checkering, with a STI barrel & STI Tri Top option slide with Browning HP sculpting cuts and Sabre Tooth serrations, checkered rear end and extractor, STI firing pin with a Caspian adj. rear sight and custom front sight. (cut down to fit how you like to aim). Dlask trigger. Cylinder and Slide hammer, sear, and disconnector. Ed Brown mag catch. Briley aluminum full length guide rod and reverse plug. Wolf springs. Paperwork also had a note "Salassa / Bears custom guns B/T" whatever that means.

The slide to frame fit has zero, and I mean zero, play yet moves like it's sliding on air. Silky silky smooth. The trigger is fairly light with that crisp "glass rod" break to it. Mag release is super smooth and the safety clicks smoothly and positively both directions.

This is supposed to be a $2500 gun new and it is like new. I paid $1700 total money for it. I do not know if that is a good deal, but I am pleased with it. If it shoots as well as it is put together I will be very happy with it. I will probably replace the front sight with a fiber optic one.

Tell me if I did good. :scrutiny:

This was a good show. There were a lot of nice 1911's there today. There was a nice blue 70 series Gold Cup Match I considered. It was $1200. I wanted them both. There was a SS Gunsite model Colt for $1400. I did not know Colt made one like that. Can't wait to shoot my new toy. :)

Enjoy. If it is reliable, and you enjoy it, it was a good buy. Sounds like it was to me too.

If you ever find yourself shooting somewhere in north Alabama I would LOVE to see and fondle that very fine pistol.

You have a connoisseurs taste in firearms! Good thing you are a reloader; you can play around with both your new sidearm and the recipies it likes best!

I took it apart and cleaned and oiled it today. It's even slicker clean. I can't wait to shoot it. I know what people mean now when they say a high end gun can spoil you. I have always wanted an Ed Brown. I may have to start saving my pennies! Maybe in a year or so.:)

One of the things I like about that gun is that it does not have forward slide serrations. Everyone puts them onto M1911s these days, but they are an abomination unto the Lord.:barf:
