I'm pretty forgiving in the"what people do to their guns" department but wood on a AR is just wrong in my book. I don't care who does it or how good their work is but I'm not the one living with it so if it suits you that's great.

Yeeeup! I’m in agreement with you. Although, as I’ve said in my earlier post, I was surprised at how handsome the wood was on my son’s. The OP’s is looking the same. Should be great looking, and I commend his friend for the talent in wood shaping/finishing.

But yeah...., just seems wrong not to have aluminum, polymer & BLACK on my AR’s!;)

Like I’ve said before, I’m not really a fan of wood furniture on ARs, but I’ve done pretty much everything else I can think of with the platform, so when my buddy said he wanted to make a set of wood furniture and needed a rifle for fitting, I was glad to do it. I went with spalted sycamore while he went more traditional with walnut. I think both of them turned out pretty danged cool for what they are and they are for sure, one of a kind. 8D0D72A9-03FC-4D42-8B8B-7B50BBAD2AD1.jpeg CF8DADB1-440A-49D5-BA34-DA87ED36EBF1.jpeg 4E7645F3-2089-4EFE-AA7B-F2DD751E038F.jpeg EDAFA441-9A0D-4246-AE6A-0F5089DF5572.jpeg
