Ok - the gun shop got a 2nd one in today - and this one had no issues (the one they got yesterday had a couple of things that bugged me). So, my newest Beretta 92FS :)

This will be my beater Beretta, and one to holster. I do need to get night sights for it, but that will come later.

While the wooden grips look awesome, they don't work for me. Already have a set of Hogue grip panels on it since I took the pic. And, the new, wooden grips will be going up for sale this evening...

And, there is a D spring that I put in it.

I really do like that the gun already comes with a skeletonized hammer, though :)

Good for you. Keep 'em coming.

What is the significant feature of the "Trident"? Wood grips, and the skeletonized hammer?

Two things different for the Trident... Skeletonized hammer and the wooden grips.

Oh, the free gun cleaning kit is in a small velcro bag instead of a plastic bag. That's all..

And. Price is like $50 less than a regular 92FS

Hmmmmmm....

What happened to "I dont want anything right now"???????:neener:

Hell, I am a Beretta 92 addict. Me saying that automatically excludes Beretta 92's :)

Now that the G models are available again, do you have one of those in your sights, or are you strictly a decocker/safety guy to maintain consistency?

G models have been out a while now. Yes, I prefer the FS models - just what I am used to. They are my preference... No plans for a G

What was the problem with the wood grips; were they too thick for the gun? I had the same problem with the wood grips on my Beretta Model 84. I eventually went with the plastic ones instead as they were much more comfortable to use.

As nice as wooden grips look, I always find them too slick. And yea, on a 92FS, they make the gun too fat for my hands. I always put the hogue grips on a 92

I wonder if they are releasing the Trident to decrease 92 stock as the new and thinner M9A3 makes its way out to the light.

I can't imagine people will want the fatter grip on the 92 if a thinner grip is available...

I won't buy the M9A3... I do not like the Vertec grip. I have owned one before when they came out over a decade ago. And, the grips that will come with it that will simulate the old grip... THey will be polymer and not rubber like teh Hogue grips.

Plus, non railed Berettas balance better to me. I have owned probably 7 or 8 railed Berettas over the years. I have none now. The non railed ones balance better in a 1 handed grip. Less front heavy

I have small hands so the thinner, more vertical grip of the Vertec design works a lot better for me with a Model 92.

I have small hands too - and the 92 was always too big for my hand until they added that rear strap indentation to the frame over a decade ago. THAT's when the regular 92FS frame is perfect for me. The regular M9 frame doesn't come with that frame change, and it doesn't fit my hand well enough

Lovely gun:)

92's a thick guns, but for anyone worried about the grip size, don't let that scare you off. The 92fs is my favorite firearm. I don't have very large hands at all. I figured that a 1911 would fit me better. However, that's not the care. The larger palm filling Beretta is more comfortable in hand, and I shoot it better in SA than any 1911 I have owned.

I still may pick up one of the new variations the first of next year, just because. However, I don't think it will replace my 92 as my go-to 9mm.

Just got the slide back from Tooltech this week. Nightsights installed in my 92 Trident :)

Other than grips, what is the difference between the Trident and the standard? They are going for about $80-$100 cheaper than the FS or M9. Is there a difference or just a run that didn't do as well as expected?

I don't need another, but it's kind of falling under the "no-brainer" category.
