I LOVE OLD COLTS! and this is my 1st New Colt Purchase. Under 5000 series number, so very 1st generation, and I thought I would run into issue with New Colt, But not this much!!! Long time before I buy New Colt EVER
Had a change to go shoot my New Blue Python 6” and it BROKE!
one of the chambers was tight as snot, probably some crud “I guess” so I ran a empty case in there till something scraped off, probably blueing. it loosened up.
OK.. no big deal. moving on
cylinder full of mid-load .357, Double Action and it fired but was “dragging” accuracy SUCKED! late on that
OK… moving on
load a cylinder full of .357, Single Action time. Pull back the hammer … AND… gun LOCKED up. Hamer won’t drop, had to call a young range officer who didn’t know the muzzle end of a Exhaust pipe…Told him to STOP before he broke the lock stop. I fiddled with the latch a bit and the hammer finally falls on my finger. Kinda scary but not really cuz I know basic of firearms safety.
CALLED COLT, got a RMR return label, it’s going BACK!
BTW: the rear windage screw was loose as a goose
Got Home to have a Slow examination. And the Conclusion is the Latch is out of spec and too TOO LONG. The case rim would wedge the latch a bit open as to lock up whatever. See Photos!
Did I tell you I had ZERO HOPES for New Colt! Was just too Pretty to not buy but my $299 Service Six and $500 GP100 shoots 10 times better than this piles of excrement!
