Unfortunately not much you can do with laminate when they are too small. Any splice is likely to look funny, tho i guess adding a grip cap would work.

Nah, bond is more durable.
Ill also add any form of flex or binding.....usually its something pretty simple, and my default is to just bed the thing if theres not unusual contact.You sure it's tightened up right, maybe the action screw bottom out before it should.

Use some clay on the underside of the barrel nut, so if you remove the barrel of loosen the nut it will still fit in the stock.On the Savage the action screws go thru the receiver chamber and if threaded in too far the bolt will not function.
Certainly something is amiss so yes I will be doing a full bedding and pillars on it. Opposed to the Thumbhole stock that I didn't feel comfortable with this one I will keep.

it's normally better to bed the first few inches of barrel.Hopefully I can keep the epoxy out of that area and not have to worry about it.
