Manual Safety vs Decocker
Please help me make sure I understand. I'm looking at the RAMI. As I think I understand it,
The regular 2075 RAMI has a manual safety. I'm guessing this is like my PPK/S, where flipping the safety "on" decocks the hammer, lowers the hammer down to the firing pin block, and also prevents trigger pull.
But the RAMI BD, with a "Decocker" instead of a manual safety decocks the hammer on to the firing pin block, but does not lock the trigger. It then is ready for the first shot to take place, but in double-action (long trigger pull) mode. Thereafter, each subsequent shot would be SA.
The latter type would be preferred by those who are comfortable with the only restriction to firing is the long DA trigger pull on the first round. There would be no safety to "unlock."
The former type would be preferred by those who, despite the long trigger pull are comfortable with an additional manual safety.
In the former, i.e. "regular" RAMI, can the hammer be decocked by turning the safety "on," then unlocking the safety by subsequently turning the safety back "off?" (This is what we do with the PPK/S)
If the last question is true, i.e. this is like the PPK/S, then I would be just as comfortable with a "regular" RAMI.
I'll appreciate all of your feedback, thanks.
