Private sale - a 3 year old never before shot (after stripping the gun I totally believe it ... good as if it just came from the factory).

It's an SA58 Medium Countour rifle in 7.62 - obviously a "ban era" rifle as it features an integrally machines muzzel break which actually looks pretty cool.

It came with a ton of extras:

* 8 20 rounds magazines
* 6 magpuls
* DSA "extreme duty" picatinny rail
* supposedly a Harris bipod, but labeled DSA. It can quick detach the bipod and is pretty cool - fits the gun well.
* GRSC snap sling
* Cheek Rest
* .308 Easyloader speedloader
* FN/FAL Austrian cleaning kit
* Dewey teflon coated cleaning rod
* FAL toolkit (buttstock, gas wrench, extractor, front sight)
* Installed recoil buffer
* 5 extra magazine springs
* Desert Publication FN/FAL book
* hard carry case (I believe originally included with rifle?)
* ACE 46" padded soft carry case

I added up the gun and all these parts and think I got a pretty decent deal. $1700 total for everything. Probably not as good as the seller made it out to be, but considering no sales tax, shipping, transfer fees, etc. I am pleased.

I'll and post pictures tomorrow evening ... it's too late to get the digital camera out now.

Nice man! I'm jealous. Although, when I do buy my DSA, I'd like to get a bayonet lug and a bipod just for the hell of it.

Thanks. I was not too worried about the lug - but the bipod is really nice that came with it. It has a snap quick detach feature which works great.

my buddy has a medium contour brl. from dsa on an imbel, the rifeling is a trip, it looks like there is twice as much as my STG.:scrutiny: what about yours?

You mean the number of grooves? I looked into the bore last night and nothing stuck me as out of the ordinary. DSA uses Badger barrels, I believe and they are supposed to be very good.

I don't have any other .308 rifles to compare the rifling to, unfortunately.

sorry i cant remember it was either a higher twist, or more groves, thats why i asked you,lol...

Very nice! you got a good deal i think. I just got one my self and i don't think mine was shot either. Nice handling rifle and in the right caliber to(7.62x51):D

With the bipod on it, it's certainly a bit top heavy, as the bipod keeps my hand farther back. With the bipod off, it's better but is still a little heavy in the front, but not horribly so.

Overall, this is not a light gun regardless.

Yes, I am going to put optics on it, but I am dead broke. :banghead:

The gun looked like a good deal, so my wife made me buy it. I actually went to the show looking for an SKS.

Suggestions on optics?

Nice looking gun. I went to the show today. I would have bought that rifle if it were still there. ;)

I found a used Colt LE M4 and brought it home. I'm very happy. :evil:

Let me know how that thing shoots! I'm interested in picking up a Medium Contour to compliment my impending carbine.

That bipod is a Versa-Pod Model 1. It's marketed by DSA and, like some of their IOR/Valdada scopes and their rail handguards (Made by B&T of Switzerland), it's marked DSA.

Yes, I am going to hope to get to the range soon.

I knew the bipod was not a Harris, but I liked it anyway. It detaches really, really easy which is a big plus in my book.
